Djokovic has never won more than 3 slams in a row at a single slam before

The most he won was 3 in a row on 3 separate occasions: AO (2011-2013), AO (2019-2021) and Wimbledon 2018-2021 (not including 2020 which was cancelled). But we are going into the AO next year (assuming he plays it) and he is going for 4 in a row there. If we go by this pattern, it means he won't win. It means he won't win Wimbledon next year either, because he is going for 4 in a row there as well. Nadal also loses RG every 6 years and that pattern held true this year.

He didn't win 2020, that was cancelled. So it's only 3 in a row. I'm just saying that if the pattern holds true, which these patterns often do, he won't win AO or Wimbledon next year. But it's also hard to imagine he won't win 1 of these slams.

Never say never. He might win Wimb or AO or both next year.

Whether he'll win either of them 5 times in a row like Fed and Nadal did at Wimb/USO/FO is a different matter. He'll be 36 in 2023.

But I think it's time for the AO to join the 5 in a row party and Djokovic is the only one who can do it.

Too early to say. Much can chamge between now and January. The fact he has gone very quiet is a bit odd as he usually releases lots of ststements at this time of year either himself or via his team.

Ignoring the fact Threepeats in tennis are themselves rare LMAO.

Sampras achieved it twice both at Wimbledon.
Lendl did it once at USO, failed to accomplish a Threepeat on two other occasions (FO, AO)
McEnroe did it once at the USO and a single title defense elsewhere at Wimbledon.
Connors never achieved it and actually only had one Slam repeat with USO 82-83.
Agassi only had one title defense at AO but may have completed a fourpeet, as he skipped going for a Threepeat at AO and so technically won 3 in a row participated.
Wilander one title defense at AO.

Djokovic has accomplished three separate Threepeats on two surfaces, and an additional 2 other title defenses. It is unique he never defended any of his 3 USO titles. However Nadal has never defense a Slam outside of the French Open. Federer meanwhile had the two Fivepeats but in addition only two other Slam title repeats, both in AO.


So really just goes back to Lendl being underrated defending Slams on three difference surfaces.
