Djokovic has struck the most iconic forehands in tennis history

You have to be more specific, lol. He hit 3 forehand winners in that 2nd set tiebreak and one big "inside in" in the corner to set up an easy overhead.

One was the last point which was an "easier" one with the ball very high and ready to be hammered (that point was won by the great return of serve).

I'm talking about the two crosscourt forehands on the run which very similar to each other. IIRC at 0-0 and 2-2.

The 2011 return and 2019 40-30 points I would definitely consider iconic. But 2010? I really can't even picture them. I know Novak was on serve, but I can't recall the actual points.

He actually hit some great forehands in those points, one of them in particular he bossed Federer around with that shot. If we talk about forehand quality, those were the best ones. 2011 was a bit of a hit or miss shot and 2019 it was easier one because the approach was poor.

Nadal Banana shot against Verdasco
Nadal slice forehand winner against Federer in AO09
Nadal running forehand against Federer in W08
Federer return winner to win against Sampras W01
Federer forehand to win W07 against Nadal
Federer I/I fh to save MP against Agassi in 2003 WTF RR
Federer fh against Blake “I didn’t even see that shot”

And this is Just Nadal and Federer, without using YouTube, and before morning coffee.

Contrary to popular belief here, tennis did not start in 2011

Sure but with the thread OP being about the most iconic shots, regardless of quality, 2010 probably doesn’t deserve to rank up there with the 2011 and 2019 shots.

Oh ok yea, both were pretty similar shots but the 2nd one he really ripped. That was a screamer. So was the match point but like you said he set that forehand up with the return of serve and just crushed it to win. Had to be at least 95 mph on that shot.

Djokofans must be in competition with each other to see who can make the worst takes. So far RF-18 is winning.
Normally picking from a slew of exclusively clusterbumbling takes is a tricky affair, but sometimes even then an anomalous gauntlet (egg) can still be laid.

Probably a compliment coming from you 8-BThat like you have from nolefam_2024 is like the kiss of death as well, the post must be truly awful for him to like it :sneaky:

The worst fanbase of all time.
I shouldn't have laughed but I did.

It's funny when NatF calls out Djokovic fans.

Not really fun when someone is so bitter. Guy can't take a good/fun comment about Djokovic without becoming unhinged. That's how much he is raging about the thought of Djokovic.

It's obviously tongue in cheek but whatever lol.

  • 2010 US Open SF vs. Federer: 2 massive forehand winners to save match points
  • 2011 US Open SF vs. Federer: forehand return winner down match point
  • 2012 Australian Open F vs. Nadal: forehand winner championship point to close an epic
  • 2018 Wimbledon SF vs. Nadal: forehand passing shot winner down break point 7-7 in the 5th
  • 2019 Wimbledon F vs. Federer: forehand passing shot winner down championship point
  • 2024 Olympics F vs. Alcaraz: the running forehand winner in the 2nd set tiebreak
No other player has produced as many memorable, iconic forehands in the biggest possible moments. The Djokovic backhand gets its due praise but the Djokovic forehand deserves recognition as the greatest clutch shot in tennis history. Discuss.
He hit the only FH return winner that made Nadal snarl like an angry cat:
