Djokovic has to pull a rabbit out of the hat to beat Sinner in the semis of wimbledon

He has to find a level which Dimitrov found before his injury, he has use variety and not get into baseline slugfests with Sinner. More slices, maybe junkballs giving Sinner nothing, his return game must be on to dictate play.

This isn't 2023, Sinner is now the number 1 player in the world and Djokovic hasn't beat Sinner since the ATP Tour Finals in 2023.

He has to call on all of his experience, grit, knowhow to stand a chance because I think Sinner is going to have a side job as a demolition expert on Friday if you catch my drift.

He might have a puncher's chance on Friday (e.g. a decent outside chance; he is not the favorite), but the sort of variety Dimitrov showed is hard for him to match. He will have more variety than Sinner, certainly.

It's probably his best chance to beat him on this surface.

That being said....

Sinner in 4, possibly 5 depending on his elbow/arm.

Hopefully Djokovic wins against Sinner and Alcaraz

He wont want a hat trick of consecutive major losses to Sinner or a 3 peat loss in finals to Alcaraz

Djokovic knew heading in that to win Wimbledon, he would need to beat Sinner and Alcaraz back to back. He knows what he needs to do, it is about execution on the day, who does it better.
Djokovic said the same in presser. He mentioned Alcaraz and not Fritz. Djoko knows Fritz has little chance! lol

It was meant to be this way! It probably too much at this point but they were always going to be standing in his way again.

As a Carlitos fan, Sinner scares me a little more as of 2025.

That being said, if Novak beats him then I’d be worried about him as well. He’d be on that revenge path.

Hopefully it gets into a long, punishing 5 sets.

Why, because he made significant progress on the natural surfaces this year?

He is here to do it.

I have a feeling he can do it.

His serve will need to click. But apart from that he is way way better grass courter than current tour can hope to be and if Sinner couldn't handle Dimitrov playing grass court tennis, he won't be able to handle the second best grass courter of the era.

I am picking Novak to win in 5.

The danger for Nole is especially those past their physical prime.. this could push his body to the absolute limits and potentially cause injury. Trying to do that extra 5, 10% for prolonged period of time could eventually lead to injury. Hope thats not the case and taht we dont get something like he beats sinner via gruelling 5 setter only to retire injured for the finals.

You are right on the money.
It is very difficult situation for novak.
If he spent all his energy and even win against Sinner and collapse against Alcaraz will be worse case.
But if he is not up to his best he is not going past Sinner.
Same goes for Sinner . If Novak takes him to a gruelling 5 setter he will also find difficulty against alcaraz.
Nobody thinks thats Fritz will pass alcaraz test so it is upto Novak to decide to how to proceed.

This is the special challenge of tennis that makes it fascinating, and also different from most other individual sports. Winning a tournament, especially a slam, requires careful allocation of physical and mental resources over 1-2 weeks and possibly 20-30 hours of play. You can't blow everything you have on one match, or even part of one match. (Arguably, Dimitrov just failed the latter test. Playing so hard your arm almost falls off but only getting two sets, not three, out of the deal is not the recipe for success.) Djokovic needs to avoid his 2025 AO scenario in which he was in extraordinary form in the quarterfinal and then lasted only one set in the semifinal.

If it is going that way then better reach another final even if he has to give walkover to alcaraz or fritz .
What we have to understand is Novak from day 1 knew he has to pass sinneraz test if he has to go all the way.
He had been playing very smart tennis till SF saving himself for last 2 battle.

DimiGOAT >>> Djokovic confirmed!
I was perplexed at the Djoker faithful who thought he could beat Sinner cause he's better on grass and has variety. Grass is not different enough and Djoker's variety is not good enough to bridge the chasm that is their baseline abilities.

Been saying for more than a year, it's just a bad matchup for Novak. Surface doesn't matter.
