Ok I see what's happened the haters have infected a perfectly credible thread, ah the price of success cup8489 clarky21 kragster please exit.

Hater? Hardly, it's cool seein the Djoke dominate. I was just playing fun at the hype that's sprung up on him, which is somewhat preposterous in its scale.

Don't get so upset, I'm just havin some fun.

Actually you have a point, I should change this thread to djoker has not reached his peak yet as I guess going by his age he is in his prime. The fact remains is there more to come?

Yes, all I was really saying is that prime and peak are two different things. From that standpoint, I think Djokovic is in his prime and has been since at least 2008.

If we're talking about peak level of play, we won't really know that until he's no longer in his prime. I think there's definitely a chance we haven't yet seen the best of Djoker. I think his serve used to be more of a consistent weapon and can become one again.

Agreed on the serve; it used to be bigger than Feds, and was developing into a very reliable weapon.. it's too bad T. Martin came in and tried to change it in the manner he did..

McEnroe was harping on about how Nole's serve was maybe bigger than Fed's maybe during the 2007 US Open.

It's never been bigger than Fed's. However, it has been better than it currently is, and surely he's looking to return his serve to his former glory. The problem is, his serve is kinda arm-ish, and it seems to cause a lot of strain for his shoulder.

Speedwise he was hitting bigger serves, but Federer's was always more of a weapon because of reliability, accuracy, and variety.

Yeh, that's what I'm getting at, I concur. Excellent post BTW in the 'Federer best at 30?' thread.

Thanks! It's how I feel.. you can almost see the progression from skill to physicality. Not so long ago Federer could blow a guy off the court with his crazy improvised shots, and now he has trouble hitting through Djokovic who can just run all day today, all day tomorrow, and all day the day after.

I'll wait until I see how Nadal fares against the Djoker at this years Madrid and Rome Masters, but I think Novak stands a decent shot at completing the Grand Slam in 2012.
