If anybody catches anybody, it will still be Nadal catching Federer, but there is a chance that neither happens. Definitely don't see Djokovic catching Nadal regardless of this result (typical TTW overreaction IMO), but Nadal catching Fed is possible. Perhaps not as probable as some seem to think though, IMO.

Who knows. It’s all down to Djokers longevity, if he can maintain current form until 33/34 then he can absolutely catch Nadal

Maybe. I doubt it though. Nadal always has RG where he will be the man to beat if in decent form, and he could've easily beaten Djokovic and been holding #18 here. Plus they're the same age. If Djokovic catches Nadal I'd be nothing short of shocked.

Novak's back winning Slams. It's one of his biggest ever wins imo, considering his dip in form, loss of motivation, injuries and surgery etc.
I didn't think he'd win the championship before it started, it's been a pretty average year for him and he's been coming back from surgery but he's done a little better over the past few weeks.

Wimby brought back some confidence for him along the way and someone had to win it after all. Good win over Nadal in the semi final, the final was another Wimbledon anti-climax.

No one knows what the final Slam totals will be so predicting it is a mug's game.
If Nole goes out early in the USO, people will be writing him off again, lol.

I agree that of both maintain current form it is unlikely. But even coming off a massice lapse by Djoker I think Rafa has proven that more inconsistent player in terms of form. On top of that I’m doubtful that Rafa will have the same longevity that Djoker will.

Rafa has already had more longevity than Djoker in a sense. Nadal has been winning majors since he was 19 which is a huge reason why he has the current lead of 4 slams. He pulled away from Djoker in that time when Novak was in the wilderness. And he still looks fit as ever, maybe even fitter than Novak himself.

I think the longevity question about Rafa has been effectively answered and is an old and tired question tbh.

I guess we’ll see. Rafa’s spoken about the perm damage to his knees in the past. That extra weight and defense adds up

Anything is possible! It’s hard to predict anything! All I know is, tennis is much more exciting with Djoko back. The big 3 all playing well again at same time, us open will be exciting!

Nadal is a machine . I don't believe his movement and reflex will ever slow down . He will fight for every point

The question is will his body and knees hold up ?

Knee jerk reactions everywhere.

None will reach Federer's 20. Nadal is the most likely to add to his current tally as he's the strongest at his pet slam, but all of them are bound to decline hard sooner than later.

All we know is this

Federer - 20
Nadal - 17
Djokovic - 13

The us open is the next stop! As usual it’s between the big 3. I see Nadal and Djokovic the 2 bigger favourites, then fed!
