Djokovic is closer to Federer than Nadal is

You're talking about two players that played more than twenty years apart in totally different eras. Before you make a Sampras remark, technology was much closer between his generation and now compared to 1965 (Emerson) and the mid-late 80's(Lendl)
I am not asking about technology or eras, who is better Lendl or Emerson?

Who would you rate higher based on career achievements?
Pre open era stuff man. Hard to measure that imo. How does this relate to the discussion? You want me to give you an answer that you want so that you can use it against me. Can't we stick to the open era here since Emerson had his success before that?

Typical Djokovic guy that gives stats but can't back it up with actual tennis explanations and situations. Djokovic was very fortunate that he didn't have to play Federer and Nadal at their best on their best surfaces. End of.
In your hatred for Djokovic you forgot , Federer won his FIRST 10 SLAM finals beating Nadal just Once ..
Moreover Fed Was able to defeat Nadal at slams only for 2 years 2006, 2007 and then lost to Nadal for a whole 10 years , A DECADE , before getting another win ..

If you want to Put down Djokovic ,never use Nadal's example or else you expose Fed like noone else...

Be happy that majority Djokodal fans don't fall to your level and respect Fed on forums or else ....

My point is that for all time greats, so the very top, slam counts are not the only metric. Fed Djokovic and Nadal, are the best ever. In my view Djokovic was better than Pete before he got more slams. Rafa too. For me it seems obvious based on the career achievements of the 3, that Djokovic is more competition to Fed legacy than Rafa. And hence your insecurity. Rafa has no chance of getting world tour finals or weeks at number one, and whilst still doing awesomely well on other surfaces, his resume is very clay heavy. Those 2 slams aren’t a big deal when the count is 17-15, maybe if it was 8-6 or something. Four slams in row is huge, also Nadal was probably the second best player for most of his career, behind Fed for some and Novak for some. Most tennis fans with a sense of history regardless of who they go for would appreciate historically significant achievements, and have an idea of their importance

The whole point of the argument is Djokovic vs Nadal. Not Federer vs Nadal. He met him over and over again in FO finals and kept his end of the bargain reaching finals everywhere else while Nadal was losing to guys that Federer beat. So what's your point? Nadal was winning HC masters too. So no excuses. The only thing I showed is that Djokovic never had to face either of them at their peak on their best surfaces. Why are you worried about Nadal since you're a Djokovic fan so much? I guess because you want to leap frog too?????Don't even mention Roddick because 5-4

You r lying ..
djokovic met Nadal at Wimbledon 2007 and French open 2006,07,08 and US open 2010 ..

Met Federer at US open 2007 , 2008, 2009 ,2010
And Australian open 2007 and 2008 .

Even if we assume that Federer became old in 2011 and Novak reached his peak ...still he met Fedal 11 TIMES in slams before 2011 ,and was perrenial ranked number 3 , So he would have won many of those slams had he not faced them ..

Those 5 loses to Nadal was definitely peak Nadal and 3 loses to peak fed 2007-2008..

Btw Fed is such a cute GOAT ,who loses his peak form at age 26... Cool
You knew what I meant from the start. I wasn't counting baby Djokovic meetings because of course he got owned. Peak Djokovic never had to face that level of player again and you know it.

Djoker faced all forms of imaginary forms of Nadal -baby, peak, prime, old , Grandpa ....
That is wrong statement to make when u said djokovic didn't face peak Nadal at slams ...

At slams , Djoker faced Nadal in - 2006 ,07 ,08 ,10 ,2011 ,2012 ,2013 ,2014 ,2015 ,2018 ,2019

Let's says ,Nadal's french open peak might be 2007-2013 - so djokovic met him 4 times at RG in that case .

Or as fed fan ,let's say Nadal's peak ended at age 22 and that he was peak from 2005-2009 - Still Djoker met Nadal 3 times at RG ....

But it was before 2011 BRO which is the whole point. By the time Djokovic peaked on clay, Nadal was a shell of his former self and Djokovic still couldn't beat him and was losing to old man Federer too. Federer wasn't lucky enough to get that version of Nadal at his own peak on clay. Same goes for grass. Nadal wasn't lucky enough to get the old man version of Federer at Wimbledon. Anything else?

Djokovic was a real opposition to Nadal at RG after 2011 for the first time.

Before that it was never even close.

Don’t worry bro this guy is a one eyed Fed fanboy, with very little tennis knowledge outside fed’s career

Well Rafa was aged 24 when Djokovic beat him back to back clay masters in 2011 - and was on a big streak and that streak had to come to an end ...
29 year old Fed ended that streak and am glad the streak ended ,bcoz Djoker won the next 3 slams .

By using your logic , Fed was lucky that he never faced Peak Djokovic at australian open 2011 to 2016 in finals .

Yeah he is lucky since those years would've been his 13,14,15,16, and 17th friggin seasons! It's not complicated

You want to talk about Roy Emerson lol. We talking about the open era and more importantly the last 20 years of tennis since I'm not 65 years old.
You are the one that talked about how Djokovic fans only know 2011 onwards. I started watching in the mid 80s.

Nadal peaked on grass before Djokovic did and had to face Peak Federer in 2/3 finals they played at Wimbledon. Same goes with Federer having to play Nadal at his peak in FO finals. Two things Djokovic didn't have to do that always gets lost in all this. According to many Djokovic fans, tennis didn't start until 2011 the same year Federer was a 13 year veteran and still pushing Djokovic around.
2008 Fed was not at his peak and Djokovic hasn't lost on grass to the likes of Dustin Brown Steve Darcis Rosol Muller etc etc

I mean to say what I said, and Nadal was winning RG since he was 19.

By the time Djokovic came into his own Nadal already had Agassi's entire career.

If that means nothing to you, I cannot help further.

Nadal won 9 slams till 2010 and won 8 slams after 2010 will add more...
Djokovic nadal age difference is 11 months ..
Djokovic obviously face all forms of Rafa - baby peak prime old ...
No doubt abt that.

Nadal is still amazing on clay. He's always been. He's won the last two FO without dropping a set. lost a set to scharwtman

Isn't that what he said?

He said "2/3" finals.

The point was not who is more consistent on grass between Djokovic and Nadal, but what kind of opponent they had to meet respectively.

Nadal met peak Federer on grass and lost.

Nadal met post peak Federer on grass and narrowly won.

Djokovic met post peak Federer on grass and once lost and twice won.

And Nadal faced peaked Steve Darcis in his prime and lost.:-D:-D

U can't be goat when you've lost 1st rounds at slams like nadal did at australian open 2016 or wimbledon 2013.

YEC have to be taken into account like the consecutive Semi finals Finals number of weeks number 1 etc etc just shows how you dominated your era. Nadal doesn't have the numbers except on clay. King of clay with exceptionnal results on other surface but nowhere near Fed and the Djoker.

YEC ha

Some Fed fanboys never respect any other player .
When they want to put down Rafa ,they use Djokovic .
And when they want to put down djoker ,they use Rafa ...
They can't use Fed for obvious reasons ..
Yeah, I have played and followed tennis for a fair while, liked Edberg Sampras etc. Being Serbian getting Djokovic during my lifetime was awesome. Also I remember tennis not being so popular, and most of the best players not giving a toss about clay. Sampras and Fed really put tennis on a new level of popularity, Nadal gave clay relevances. This is why I can’t stand band wagoners of which Fed has the most, but facts are facts, and they know that if Novak gets close to 20 he will have Fed covered

Of course he is. It's not his 2005-2009 level though. Djokovic at his peak never played Federer or Nadal at their peaks on their best surfaces like I said earlier.

You repeat the same thing, but it doesn't address the conversation at all.

I thought that we are talking about when their respective peaks happened

As you wrote " so sad that Nadal's peak ended at age 23".

FYI, in 2011 Nadal was 25.

I just responded to ur comments ...
Most Djokovic fans are waiting in patience .
Most Nadal hate threads r not even made by djoker fans ...
I don’t get what is to wait for Djokovic has got nadal covered in pretty much everything and nadal winning one or two or three French opens more or less doesn’t bring much more to the table
