"I know he is very sad inside himself and he is in pain," Stepanek, a former world No. 8 and a Davis Cup hero for the Czech Republic, told CNN. "He is in pain because it was unintentional and, in that moment, the pain is bigger.

"And it's hard for him because we know how hungry he is to become the player with the most grand slams. I believe he felt -- everyone felt -- this one should be for him, reachable.

"All these circumstances make it very sad for him and in the first moment, empty, because I believe he himself knew that it was wrong that she got hit.

"Obviously the pressure on him and the criticism he is getting over time, it's hard. He's trying to do the best he can. He might be by the end of his career the greatest of all time. We are all human beings. We have a right to make a mistake."

Im a good Christian boy, I have sympathy for everybody. He's already been ejected from the tournament, it's time for us to move on and accept his apologies.

Bc we all make mistakes :D

Yes, we all make mistakes. But we learn from them, which he has refused to do.

So, no sympathy from me. Although I'm not 'a good Christian' like you, so I must be a 'bad (something else)'

His good friend Stepanek is contradicting what Djokovic said earlier about how good the next generation is compared to the big3.
Nice!

Not a bad anything. Just sounds like you could use some work on yourself as well (y)

Why is he in pain? Why is he not tougher? A DQ can happen even when you're not expecting it so he should have been mentally prepared for it. It's all part of the mental preparation for being a pro player. If something however unlikely can happen there's no excuses for not being ready to mentally or physically accept it.

Sounds like Djokovic's sadness is to do with being denied the chance to increase his slam total. When he was pleading with the referee, he said it was not as if the line judge had been taken to hospital and it would affect his career as this was center stage at a slam.

I thought it is obvious that he is in pain and sad because of the disqualification. Don't tell me you are expecting him to be sad because the lines woman got shocked for a minute.

The lost opportunity is a big deal. He realizes he is 33 and wants to get as many majors as possible.
