Djokovic #majoring in #majors and #minoring in #minors

OK. Someone had to do this. For those of you who have been around a few years, there was a member, GrannyB, who used hash tags every other word for emphasis and who continually trolled Novak. She said he majored in minors, the idea being that he was racking up M1000s but couldn't win majors. Actually that was partially true for 2012-2014, but then the worm turned.

Now this year he has only one lonely title other than majors, Madrid. It's a M1000, but still without his two majors not too impressive looking.

Kudos to Djokovic for totally reversing the trend and becoming an absolute ace at peaking for the biggest events. With his up and down play this year I really thought he was much less likely to win Wimbledon, and in fact it took some near miracles to pull it off. But you have give the devil his due. He has a knack of finding all the right stuff at just the right time.

Wow, I so miss angieB and her atrocious hashtag posts. Big fan of Nadal and was so butthurt of Djokovic stamping Nadal in 2011 and 2012 AO.

There are better examples, but this is typical. Sort of classic after Novak just won yet another major and now has two of his three titles this year at majors.

It's amazing to think heading into Wimbledon five years ago that he was only on 6 majors and hadn't won one in 18 months. If someone had told me back then that exactly five years later he'd have won another 10, including 4 more Wimbledon titles, you could've absolutely knocked me down with a feather. I still can't quite get my head around it to be honest.
