Djokovic makes Federer look old

It is not the first time when fans started saying Federer is too old after Djokovic match.

AO 2008. First SF loss after 10 straight finals in grand slam. Djokovic was quicker on the court.

AO 2011. Federer looked like he was playing well but did not win a set.

AO 2016. Djokovic beat Federer and had 2 best sets of his life.

Cincy 2018. Djokovic beat Federer on faster courts of Cincy with breaking Feds serve 3 times.

Just an opinion.

Dang yall are multiplying fast ;)

Somebody burn the factory :p

Fed is awesome. He is probably my second favorite player. I just think sometimes after Djokovic matches, their is very depressing environment. And its usually just exaggerated.

If Djokovic loses a match like yesterday, he is younger so people don't feel too bad. But if Fed loses it, their is all doom and gloom predictions.

Oh look, another troll thread
Pathetic stuff from some of the nole fans

.

Instead of just enjoying their fav's win.

Honestly, every fanbase does it. Federer fans will claim Fed has extended the lead and earned several new longevity records, Nadal fans will claim Nadal has a new claim on the GOAT title, Djokovic fans will claim he will redominate the tour and earn a billion slams, and Zverev fans will claim he'll destroy tennis in the coming years.

I think the only group content with their slams immediately after they occur is Murray fans.

Murray made Federer look young in Wimby 15.

I recall Federer was serving bombs and hardly ever missed in that match. Didn't give Andy a chance to get into his service games. Against Novak it was a different matter and Sunday's Cincy final proved nothing had changed. When he faces Novak these days, Federer's serve and return just go awol. Novak must really be in his head.

Novak is more aggressive when he meets Fedal. And he is definitely in Federer's head.

celebrating their guy's achievement is fine, its one thing.

not spewing utter rubbish bullcr*p like the one in this thread ....

I mean ....no one sane said federer was old after AO 08 ...it was the effect of mono .....
Federer was losing 2 and 3 to a Fish serving at 35% at Indian wells, but hey, djokovic made him look old there, no ? yeah, absolutely brilliant anlysis from @nachiket nolefam ...brilliant, mind-blowing genius !

AO 2011 ..fed was past his prime ....at same age, djokovic was losing to frickin' Istomin in 2017 ...but hey lets crow about how djokovic "made" federer look old by beating him in a tight 3-setter....oh but wait, same federer beat peakest of peak djokovic at RG and nearly did the same at USO ...but hey , how can "old" federer do that ? not only that, guy also took #1 position from peak djokovic and peak nadal by winning WImbledon and beating Djokovic/Murray back to back.....

and yes, Fdederer was old by AO 2016 and even more so...

fed was struggling off the return/ground vs wawrinka, goffin at Cincy well before he met djokovic.

lost to fricking' Anderson at Wimbledon ...but it was djokovic who made him look old....

djokovic had to wait for federer to be 37 years old and play sh*t to finally win Cincy ,but hey be absolutely shameless and crow about that djokovic makes him look old. yeah, really nice work.

The depth and precision on the ground strokes and returning the ball to their feet drives Fedal nuts. Fed never liked that even in his younger days. He is not the greatest one two puncher and greatest front runner for a reason.

So an extent, it's true that Djokovic can produce some amazing tennis to defeat Federer that can make him seem not as good by comparison, but the reverse is also true- remember that.

So much in the same way Djokovic can make Federer look old, Federer can bring Djokovic to school and make him look young and naive. It's not about making Federer look old in general, just old in the match. So hey, calm down a bit. Our more enthusiastic posters will calm down after Djokovic produces some mediocre results, as he's sure to do sometime soon before the end of the season.

Just suffer through a few more threads.

actually fed was one of the 2 greatest at half-volleying at his prime in the last 25-30 years or so (other one being agassi) and was perfectly fine half-volleying/handlng depth, .but hey , good job at BSing :)

being an enthusiastic poster is different from trolling and posting cr*p. this thread is the latter.

Never said he was not great at half vollies. Sure yes the everything is bs fed fan thing. Are you ****ing telling me fed wants to grind it out and have a war with prime djokovic? If so you are so full of horse **** there are no boots tall enough.

then what else do you need to counter groundstrokes with depth ?

no, I'm not saying he'd want to get into a "grindfest" with djokovic. I'm saying he'll dig out those deep djokovic shots perfectly well (and send it back with interest quite a few times).
and doesn't need to get into a grindfest with djokovic. he'll dictate with his fh and then vary it around on his bh. (b/w slice and topspin/flat bh)
besides djokovic's depth would be disrupted significantly anyways with the federer fh dictating and the bh normal slice/short slice disrupting djokovic's rhythm.

its not 14-15 "only hit with power in a few tournaments with bigger racquet" federer that he'd be dealing with.

and yes "Fed never liked that even in his younger days." part is BS. because federer didn't have problems groundstrokes hit with depth at his prime at all --- because he was great at half-volleying.

its a contrast to nadal who did/does have a clear problem with that depth on the return (though not as much in the rallies)
