From today's highlights, Novak appeared quite rusty on clay. Playing in Rome will definitely help him get ready for RG.
Well, it hasn't been a nice last couple of days for him to say the least. Good thing for him is, he likes Rome, so this is a nice place for him to get some matches in.

Crowd love him in Rome. Such a shame its empty. Rome is a special event. He looked good today in brutal heat as well.
Well, they know that only can Novak speak Italian, but he also did training out there when he was young, so he has a connection with the place and people. He was decent out there, but certainly not top gear just yet, and I don't really expect him to be until the latter stages of Rome if he makes it that far.

He will be smart. He will use it for match practice but in the heat they are having he will avoid long matches im sure. If he makes quarter finals i would think he will be happy that he has enough matches. This year, like cincinatti, it is effectively a practice event. Which is a shame as these m1000 events should be huge in their own right.

As a Novak fan, while a win would be great, for me, I just want him to get some good matches in to get his form ready for RG, even if that means he goes out by the semis here.

Phillip Hughes? There are certain sweetspots throughout human body that don’t need much stimuli to off you and neck is most certainly top of the list. Carotid sinus, vago-vagal syncope...food for thought (and Google).

This is beside the point anyway. You physically insult a referee, game over. Something a 33y old, 17 times GS champion should be aware of more than anyone else.
Not sure if the lines woman would call it sweetspot (to the least it was not sweet shot)
but anyway I fully agree with what you said.

Novak is totally different from Sanpras. I am surprised his growing up favorite was Sampras..He has more Agassi like trait.Do they actually mean when they say their favorite was this and that?

He has anger management issues. If only he can tap that anger into something positive can his game improve 5 or 10 % ? Even from Its lofty heights right now.

Okay now he has a clear tendency of getting broken after he fails to convert break points on opponents service game..Have noticed it quite a few times now..Happened a few times in W&S and against Busta..

How much more likely is Djokovic now to getting that 6th year ending number one with Rafa faltering in Rome? Thiem looks like potentially a bigger challenge for that spot right now.

So even if he wins in Paris, he basically adds 2000 points, without losing last year's points ?
Best result matters.

He can't add points in Paris. As Nadal can't add point in Rome or RG.
If Nole wins Rome, he will add 400 points(He adds 1000 for 2020 win, and "lose" 600 for 2019 Final).

Nadal can gain, if he won't play 250s and 500s, only in Paris(Max 640 points, because if he will have a better result in 2020, he will lose 2019 SF points).

This rule won't be applied in WTF, every player will lose 2019 points and gain 2020 points, as usual.
