Djokovic not playing Belgrade due to personal reasons.
good decision, he probably needs that after the loss of his grandad... :-|
hope he'll come back fresh at madrid and be focused as before !
Good for him.
Excellent decision. Save energy for later Nole.
Wow, I'm surprised Nole even got to the final with that hanging over him so heavy. What a warrior. Once he heals, watch out ATP tour, it's lights out.
Then Belgrade will be a tragedy.
Wise move to reduce the number of tournaments he is playing.
Im not much of a djokovic fan, but this is devastating for anyone and you never wish it upon them. God bless the djokovic family and may they find peace in a trying time. Good decision to take some personal time off. Hope to see him back soon.
That little tournament can not depend on Djokovic. He has nothing to gain there. Good decision. Why would world #1 play a 250 tournament, even if it's in his home town? Also, he needs some time off to properly grieve over his grandpa death. I don't think he should have played MC either.
Technically, it's not his home town anymore.
Agree. You definitely need some time off after a loss of someone close.
I thought he was gonna tank, what happened?
well, I know he lives in Monte Carlo but he was born in Belgrade. He can not live in Belgrade because he wouldn't be even able to walk on the street, he simply wouldn't have any privacy. From what I'm getting from different articles he is God in Serbia. When I saw that '60 minutes' show I couldn't believe how popular he is there.
now, again, that tournament needs to find a way to attract better players. They can not depend on Djokovic.
Good decision. A challenger level tournament or worse doesn't deserve the world number one player's participation.
I would've agreed if it wasn't his home tournament. The only reason why it's acceptable is -
A) Personal loss
B) Packed schedule which could jeopardise bigger tournaments.
But my intuition is that you were alluding to a packed schedule and his personal loss.
Ah great, that gives Nadal a chance to win another tournament !! *naughty grin*
Djokovic definitely gets a break for this. It's not like it's something trivial like parents splitting when you are already an adult.
You're using Djokovic's grandfather's death to score points over Nadal. Mods, ban this guy.
lol, well maybe Rafa will decide to play the SO this year ...
Agreed. May his grandpa rest in peace.
Wise decision. Djoker should take advantage of the extra time, and concentrate + try to calm his mental mind.
Score points? WTH you talking about? You have a screw loose or something fella.
How dare you call Federer a Neanderthal sir. Have you no shame?
Why of course, with his classical style of play, and the prehistoric grips, he certainly does merit that description.
The only one that has a loose screw is people who think a divorce is "trivial" and thinks it doesn't affect a family. Have some respect, you might not like Nadal, but don't say something as ignorant as "a divorce is trivial".
Relative to death, divorce is pretty trivial. Especially by the time you're an adult. Hell look at the divorce rate in the world today, approaching 50%, everyone does it at the drop of a hat. Marriage has pretty much lost all meaning in today's world and it will only get worse with future generations. Death will always be a constant.
Will Federer be taking his place in the draw?
Not sure why he's so upset over a grandfather. Mine passed and the family barely noticed.
He would need to win the qualifying matches first.
Apparently they were very close.
Bit of a rough patch for Noley. Hope he recovers fast!
If you are sending flowers, I suggest using registered mail, because the postal service is still undergoing reform in Yugoslavia.
Thanks for the heads up.
What's his family's address?I want to send flowers,too.
The beautiful fresh Narcissus flowers are in full bloom this time of year.
Djokovic just won the French Open with that decision. Rafa likes Barcelona too much to make the same decision.
Murray is the 21st century version of the slamless Gilbert, just saying...
I'm more of a Djokovic fan now. I still like Murray but he has disappointed me. I like winners.
No point, pointless event, zero prestige. Though it would have bigger crowds if Nadal played there.
Have you ever been on the topless beaches of Barcelona?
Trust me you would visit every year if you could too!
HUUHAHAHAHA good points.
well, the problem is that NDS is still a virgin, I think ... lol, the poor fellow lives in some third world country, never even seen a pic of a naked girl (or boys, he seems to like Rafa's *** too much, but it's all good, I'm not judging) ... you see some people shouldn't be allowed to use the internet
to be real Serbia open is not in Jokers class.. he plays there because its his family tournament and to give a chance for Belgrade crowd to see him once in a year...
Too bad, because i thought that it will receive ATP500 status, but i can see now that even 250 status will be hart to maintain.
The hate is at an all-time great level I see. I must be doing something right.
you dont understand forum rules do you?
If you replace NDS (actually you meant NSK, i think) with Sentinel, then all your stereotypes check out fine (except the part of liking Rafa's azz, lol).
I believe you are forgetting about non consensual sex. I have seen you 'stick it' to many a **** on this forum , so technically you have lost your V card.
Don't give up on the UK so easily...
