I see absolutely nothing wrong with what Federer or Djokovic said here. They both answered honestly and I completely agree with them for reasons that Federer listed.

Talk about an overreaction.

I don't like Djokovic that much but he is right here. Federer is my 100% favourite and idol over anybody else. I used to HATE Rafa but I'm warming to him slightly. He'll never be a favourite but he's not bad. Same with Djokovic although I don't mind him as much, Andy Murray though I just cannot STAND. I will NEVER like Murray, his attitude is horrible.

Djokovic and Federer are right. You can't bet against stats. Djokovic is the defending champion ranked No.3, Federer is 3 time AO Champ and 2 in the world and Rafa is World No.1 and has won olympic gold on hardcourts. Murray is a long way off of Djokovic at No.2. If Murray made the final and Djokovic lost in the 1st round Djokovic would still be ahead by about 100-150 points.
It's a ridiculous no matter how good he's been in the last few months.

Clearly you think this way because your Andy Murray is the person Djokovic is talking about. Your english and im sure this is a factor in your view of the comments, which sort of cracks me up because all Novak is doing is being very realistic and simply stating the facts. Thanks for the good quote from Nole.

Several trains of thought on this issue:

1. Djokovic has a right to say, hey don't overlook me. His response was simple, forthright, and truthful. There was no arrogance attached.

2. Fed said the same thing and people didn't think one thing about it, so that implies a double standard.

3. Everyone who enters the tournament has a chance to win it, not just the Big 4. Oddsmakers are trying to make money. Pundits are trying to keep their jobs. Controversy sells. A sad but undeniable fact.

May the best man win and may the fans not have sour grapes about it.

It's only a double standard if you are comparing like with like. On the one hand you have a 13 time grand slam winner, 3 time champ and winner of the last grand slam and on the other a one time grand slam winner (when Federer and Nadal didn't really perform). It was Ok for him to say Murray isn't the favourite, as it was for Federer, but I think an HONEST answer would have been to say Nadal and Federer are favourites and me and Murray are close behind, as the current form player on tour and the current defending champion. I agree you need to have self confidence, but as Nadal shows (as probably the most self confident player out there) you don't have to always voice it in this way.......arguably being cocky/snappy with journo's shows a lack of self confidence.

I see nothing wrong with Djokovic's comments here. He doesn't say anything bad about Murray and actually makes some valid points about Murray's ranking and the fact that the top 3 have grandslams with him being the defending champ. Cant really fault him here...

What is this "keeping it real" talk? Is everyone here 12? It's called acting like a fool. Just shrug it off and go play tennis.

What are you saying right now? It is not acting like a fool. It's responding to what someone asked him in a reasonable manner. Tennis fans are the softest people around.
