Djokovic skipping Queens

Yea really dumb decision to not play a grass warm up.
He didn't last year and that worked out pretty well for him.

Personally, I don't like that he didn't play a Wimbledon warm-up either but he's at the point now where he has the luxury to make decisions like this. All he does is win on whatever surface he plays, whilst hardly contesting many smaller warm-up tournaments.

I understand him. He does not want to be rude, cause he got to leave some of the titles, like 500's (minor titles) to other players on tour. He can't just take everything all the time.

Besides, not warming up on grass pre wimb has worked out pretty well for him since 2010, last time he played a grass tournament pre wimb.

I see. That's the reason he gifted the FO to Stanimal right?

Yea I guess he doesn't really need the warmup. A player of his caliber can work his way into the tournament by beating lesser players in the first week.

going straight to Wimbledon. I think he'll pay the price and not defend his title there.
Djokovic hasn't played Queens or any other Wimbledon warm-up event since 2010. For the last 4 years, he has made an appearance at the Boodles, a grass exho event in the south of England in the week before Wimbledon. He is apparently due to play there this year as well.

This year isn't quite like other years, though. Because of the third week between Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the vast majority of players will go into Wimbledon with some match practice on grass and yet still be fairly well rested. Djokovic is thus putting himself at a greater disadvantage than in the past. Also, last year was his bachelor party, so a special occasion.

Just because he did well in the past doesn't mean it was the right decision. He might have done even better had he played a warmup event.

The proof will be in the pudding.

Also, for all we know he may have had some minor physical issues (yeah, even Novak has them) after the FO which could do with a few weeks of recovery.

Which is a big benefit of the new calendar; the FO is gruelling on the body and there's now a proper window between the 2 slams to allow for the choice of a proper break if it's needed.

It's a good move!

He already won plenty of of tournaments in 2015 and there is a limit of 250/500 points you can accumulate anyway.

Don't worry he gets plenty of grass practice in private and being away from the circus allows him to digest his devastating FO loss and he can prepare for Wimbledon in relative quietness.

His coach is Becker and Becker should know how to best prepare for Wimbledon. No need to worry, I guess.
Becker would probably stick with the tried and trusted formula here, and not change anything.
The points are irrelevant, it is whether he needs the practice and warm up for Wimbledon.
Imo he probably should have done 1 grass lead up event, but obviously his team don't think he needs it.
