I'm not sure the viewers who can't handle best of 5 can handle best of 3 matches, which routinely exceed 2 hours.

That reasoning eventually leads you to abolish the advantage rule and lower the number of games per set, like in that format they used in the nextgen finals. Or even go down to 2 sets + tiebreak.

As a fan of major tennis, I can't say I like that prospect.

Well he's got a point. For the sport to survive after the Big 3 era, the format needs to be Bo3 for all tournaments. Most tennis fans are old and the younger ones won't sit for 4-5 hours to watch a tennis match.

Djokovic, give back Wimbledon 2015 and AO 2020 titles.
You had lost the QF and final respectively if it was best of 3.
Also in AO 2012 semis

Cr*p idea need to be shot down straight away.
Look at how cricket has been nearly totally ruined.
Tennis traditions are far more rigid than cricket. It would be a long time before they even consider BO3 slams...and The tennis community will be prepared for resistance if that day comes

US Open 2011, Wimbledon 2014 & 2015, Australian Open 2012 & 2020: These Grand Slam events Novak won, but at each mentioned event he found himself in a situation where he was down 1-2 or 0-2 on the sets. So even though I'm a Djoker fan, his opinion is illogical (on the contrary, it should be liked for the Bo5 format on grandslams) and I don't like it.

I'd be quite disappointed if that ever happens. Bad Novak, bad. (n)
Well, at 33 + it would be easier for Novak and Nadal to win slams the next few years. Perhaps playing 2 of 3 sets would OK till the quarters, then 3 of 5 from then on. Also, I would change the Wimbledon policy by having no tie break in the final and have tie breaks in all other matches at 6-6, 12-12, or whatever, so there would be no other Isner-Mahut situation.

Should we just play bestof5 GAMES then? Would that make it even easier for them to win 50 more slams?

This honestly has me increasingly worried that the BO5 format will eventually be abolished. The reigning world#1’s opinion carries a lot of weight. If more players come out in support of Joker’s opinion I could see it being changed. The Mad Lad has already said he wants schlems to be BO3
