Arrogance is when you put others down or believe that you are entitled to something that others are not. I don't think Djokovic is arrogant, but he isn't afraid to speak his mind or say that he is the best(which he is).Agree, there's a Serbian coach that coaches near me and he was telling me when he spoke to Novak, Novak admitted he was the best. I believe at that level you have to believe it. Is it slightly arrogant? Maybe, I don't know.
Agreed, he's confident in his abilities. People mistake this for arrogance though, e.g Ronaldo, Mohammed Ali.Arrogance is when you put others down or believe that you are entitled to something that others are not. Arrogance never stopped people from liking Federer... Good old Rog is easily the most arrogant out of the Big 3
And I mean, Djokovic has won 17 Slams, has been ranked #1 for a long time so I don't know what else he needs to do to earn respect
So Federer was 2 MPs away from going at least 83-2
Not going to lie, Ali was pushing it at times.Agreed, he's confident in his abilities. People mistake this for arrogance though, e.g Ronaldo, Mohammed Ali.

What I am saying is that if Djokovic didn't fight until the end, Federer would have won Wimbledon.
Amazing 2005 stats for fedr to play 85 matches while missing Toronto and the whole month of October (ankle injury after Bangkok). Gasquet in the M-C QFs was his earliest exit all year.Potentially 85-2 lol. (if Fed beats Safin he certainly beats Hewitt, if he beats Gasquet he still loses to Claydal, and the Nalbandian YEC loss being two points away on serve)
I started recently playing against a new guy, he's a big Fed fan and I'm a Novak fan. However, he states that it is impossible for djokovic ever to be considered the GOAT because he lacks sportsmanship. So then he defines sportsmanship as "fighting until the end and never giving up". He stated that djokovic has retired far more than Nadal and Federer despite having a shorter career. Therefore he's saying djokovic essentially gives up when he knows he is beat, rather than "fighting until the end!".
What's people's thoughts on this?

Kindly Just stop the thread there, Djokovic couldn't stand if Stan beat him in 3, so he retired, new exampleI started recently playing against a new guy, he's a big Fed fan and I'm a Novak fan. Of course you're referencing the 2009 AO final to take a dig at Federer. What about Andy Murray crying for an extended period after losing the 2012 Wimbledon final to Federer? Does the observation extend to Andy as well? It's not good sportsmanship to cry when you are loser of a slam final and make it about you.
Well.... he has done this in the past.I started recently playing against a new guy, he's a big Fed fan and I'm a Novak fan. I would say they have a weak argument, especially by adding Nadal to the equation. So retirements count but walkovers don't? Nadal has 9 retirements and 6 walkovers for a total of 15. Djokovic has 13 retirements and 1 walkover for a total of 14. Where's the difference?
People like Nadal more. That's it really. Most of the Djokovic criticisms are just based on people not liking him and not necessarily for valid reasons.

Eh. One could say that about Djoker early in his career, but that was a long time ago.I started recently playing against a new guy, he's a big Fed fan and I'm a Novak fan. Are you saying there are no valid reasons to not like Djokovic?People like Nadal more. That's it really. Most of the Djokovic criticisms are just based on people not liking him and not necessarily for valid reasons.
Is it really? I see it pretty evenly split between Fed fans who like Nadal more and Fed fans who like Djokovic more.Well the guy was a Federer fan so it's pretty common for them to like Nadal more, at least these days.
yes, agreed. Also during game he went to change the racquet and strings were not broken. Really pathetic.Today Djokovic took a lengthy MTO for his neck just before Agut's serve to stay in the second set (Agut got the 1st set). Djokovic also went to the locker room during the MTO and broke Agut's momentum and rhythm and Agut lost his serve and the set. Very bad sportsmanship by Djokovic in my opinion.
It does exist for all of them.
I only bought up Federer to highlight how all the current playing GOAT contenders have an asterisk as to their sportsmanship credentials.
It's not a dig either. He did cry and it is not good sportsmanship. This is the topic of the thread. It's not like we were celebrating Federer and I just threw it in there.
Actually roof was getting closed which takes 5 minutes and he went to locker room thenToday Djokovic took a lengthy MTO for his neck just before Agut's serve to stay in the second set (Agut got the 1st set). Terrible sportsmanship, not helping them close the roof. (sarcasm)Actually roof was getting closed which takes 5 minutes and he went to locker room then
No he did voodoo magic to make rain save him, another improvement in his game he worked on during the breakTerrible sportsmanship, not helping them close the roof. (sarcasm)
Thank you Srdjan, very cool!22-0
He owns Raonic, but we'll see how this 3-hour match (until the TB, RBA really played quite well) affects him tomorrow and for the USO.22-0

Guy is throwing up on court but it's gamesmanship, ok!
I didn't know he threw up and great fight to win that one. I knew he didn't good at all once I was able to rejoin the match. I was driving home and every once in a while refreshed the live match thread but couldn't see what was happening. It was 5-6 deuce when I got home.
Yea he was bending over and coughing into his towel like he was about to throw up. Several instances where he also looked liked he was about to pass out. Novak has looked tired many times throughout his career but I don't Think I've ever seen him in such state as in the 3rd set. Probably cause of the long break
Wow that sounds worse than I thought. When I saw his face I was like woah, he looks physically gone. I can't believe he won that tiebreak like that right after I saw that.
We don´t need to, we know NoleYou obviously, together with those who liked your post, haven't watched what was happening...

Possumovic = completely okay
No hypocrisy can be found.
It was really bad. Maybe you can see some clips on Twitter.

This pathetic troll said Nadal was faking his injury in AO 2014 final. I guess he believes that Nadal's terrible form which lasted 3 years after this final was also fake. But when Djokovic cries without stop about injuries and yet WINS EVERYTHING-of course this troll believes him.Del Possum = should be criticised

Come on, he lost 4 games in a row from 5-2 up, missing routine shots and DFingHe didn't play like he was.
