Djokovic to likely face Sinner for the first time in Monte Carlo

I'm afraid Sinner will get steamrolled. He has consistency issues - a battle of unforced errors and winners. Would be interesting to see if slow court helps him or hinders his style of play.

I’m not looking past ARV, who has his match play clay legs underneath him from 3 three-set matches (lost a 3rd set TB to PCB) in Sardinia. If form holds and Sinner does advance it then may come down to whether Joe Kovic cycles to their match as he did to meet up with Jiri Vesely in 2016.

I will wait for Sinner to reach Djokovic first.

Sinner is not ready to beat Djokovic yet, unless Djokovic is off of his game, but he can certainly trouble him a lot, if that is the case. I can see such a match going either way, unless it becomes a war of attrition, which Djokovic will definitely win.

Good job of writing a lot but saying nothing.

I just said that there are different scenarios and which one will determine what outcome. If you want to receive only definitive statements maybe chime in in a forum for Mathematics?

If you don't have anything to say, don't. You don't "need" to chime in.

I do and I say it. Not only here but in other sections as well (unlike you).

What is your contribution to this thread? That you made it?

When I have contributions to make, I make them (very often). There's no need to chime in stating what everyone already knows like you do.

The Sinner shall save tennis. Straight-setting Djokovic in Monte Carlo is just the beginning.

"Djokovic will win. That is, unless Djokovic doesn't play well. The might can go either way. If it's a close match, Djokovic will win."

Bravo!

Could you quote some of the other posts in this thread that give much of an isight in what will happen.

I will bookmark them for later reference.

Other posters have the conviction to make genuine predictions, not just post a string of nonsense that covers all bases.

Is "genuine prediction" a substitute for "shooting in the dark"?

I don't see their substantial analysis that make you appreciate them unlike my post. Please post the posts with that substantial analysis.

You don't need to present "substantial analysis" to avoid my wrath, just avoid posting what amounts to nothing but disguised as analysis.

Djokovic has a big advantage in terms of training, him, Zverev and Medvedev are allowed to train outside since they are residents while all other players are allowed 1 hour outside of balloon.

He could straight set Djoker with a bagel in the second set and it still wouldn't mean diddly squat if they were to face off again in a few weeks at RG.

Am I the only one not awed by Sinner? I feel he is being very over-hyped. I think he has already hit his ceiling. Don't see him handling Djoker.

Let's see what happens. I'm not Sinner's biggest fan, but would hope for him to get through. Lately Djokovic has looked less than convincing in early rounds, could change this time around, but either way, I hope it's an interesting match to watch.

You can feel that Djokovic fans are terrified of Sinner. :-D

Sinner is going to make Djokovic look old and slow. :giggle:

This is going to be great to watch. 8-B

:-D+:giggle:+8-B

I think Sinner might win. Don’t expect Djokovic to be in much clay form right now. But that won’t mean anything, like Tsitsipas’s win over Djokovic in Toronto 2018.
