Djokovic trying for a 5th time

2007 Wimbledon: Nadal d. Djokovic 3-6 6-1 4-1 Ret.
2007 Canada Masters: Djokovic wins title

2008 Monte Carlo Masters: Federer d. Djokovic 6-3 3-2 Ret.
2008 Rome Masters: Djokovic wins title

2011 Cincinnati Masters: Murray d. Djokovic 6-4 3-0 Ret.
2011 UO: Djokovic wins title

2016 Dubai: Lopez d. Djokovic 6-3 3-0 Ret.
2016 IW: Djokovic wins title
2016 Miami: Djokovic wins title

2019 UO: Wawrinka d. Djokovic 6-4 7-5 2-1 Ret.
2019 Japan: ????????

Can Djokovic defy the odds once more? He looks well on his way after a 50 minute demolition in the QF. How does he do it? Even pulled the sunshine double once. That's really 6 if you think about it...

Amazing player to say the least.

Not about single matches there, Pear.

We are talking one title shy of a 50% conversion rate on the following tournament after a retirement. Titles, not matches. Big difference, yeah.

Yeah, I realize that. It's just the way he worded it - "toughest test yet to keep the pattern going" made it look like Novak is on a really difficult streak.

I am actually Novak fan... 40-15 would be appropriate if you had suicide face avatar, or hysterically crying avatar, or breaking tv and furniture avatar...

Soooo you have been a busy bee haven't you ? Chasing all those retirements to prove some point.
Ok let's play:

2007 Wimbledon: Nadal d. Djokovic 3-6 6-1 4-1
Retired bcs of bleeding blister on his foot

2007 Canada Masters: Djokovic wins title
1 month later he is able to play. A miracle !!! o_O

2008 Monte Carlo Masters: Federer d. Djokovic 6-3 3-2
Retires bcs of breathing problems
2008 Rome Masters: Djokovic wins title
2 weeks later he feels ok. Realy strange among people with intolerance and allergies.

2011 Cincinnati Masters: Murray d. Djokovic 6-4 3-0
Retires bcs of pain in his shoulder. Behaving like a cheater for preventing bigger injury before US Open. :sneaky:
2011 UO: Djokovic wins title
Before Us Open: "There is no major issues, no major diagnosis, no torn muscle, just a minor inflammation because of all the matches I had played and that’s all.“

2016 Dubai: Lopez d. Djokovic 6-3 3-0
“It's an eye problem,” Djokovic said. “I have had it ever since I arrived in Dubai. It started with an infection and then severe allergy.
2016 IW: Djokovic wins title
2016 Miami: Djokovic wins title
Really really strange that eye infection can go away in 2 weeks. He should be almost blind until December !

There you go. All of your cases explained like they should to a little kid who is crying. Hope you won't be angry at Djokovic shoulder if he wins Tokyo. I know he should end his career bcs of it, but give him a chance, these days medicine can do wonders with inflammations.

You gave Fed fan a context... They always ask for it, example in Lew's threads... But when they start thread context is not needed and important... So typical and predictable...

Djokovic faked injury to avoid giving Stanimal a clean win at USO. That shoulder wasn't anywhere near as bad as what he made it out to be.
What about pain he felt in 2nd round against allmighty Londero ? He faked that too bcs he didn't know how else to overcome Ignacio ? Give me a break.
And what is "clean win" ? Stan got a win in his stats (not like with walkover). They often practice together and they know each other very well, so who would that "clean win" please actually ? You think Stan needs that last point desperately ?

They always do this. Draw conclusions from shallow glance at result, or statistical figures here and there. So lazy.

I know these aren't all the retirements he had, which is why I said it's sort of a pattern. 50% conversion rate, every other time, would be pretty good too.

In 3/4 excuses you listed, he only had to stay on court for 3 more games :sneaky:.

Interesting analysis. I thought such remarks were just Djokovic hate remarks but where im a bit confused is how he is playing so well 3 weeks later. By that i mean if he had a bad injury that forced him to pull out that usually means at least 2-3 weeks off from hitting a ball to allow inflammation to go. Minimum. So while i expected him to play Tokyo, i also expected to see him rusty having not practiced but the way he has played suggest he has been practising for past couple of weeks. That is where my confusion is.

Oh pardon me sir, may I share my surprise to you with Federer's comeback after 6 months of absence ? Novak's few weeks are nothing compared to that.
Allegedly 36 old tennis player had knee injury after Wimby semi defeat, skipped the rest of 2016 and won his first official tournament as a comeback present - a Grand Slam. :sneaky:
If that isn't comeback of this century, I don't know what is.

Do you even realize what did you just write? Yes, exactly, Federer had 6 months of rest. He fully recovered and practiced more than enough. Djokovic on the other hand somehow only plays better when he cries about him being injured. Seriously, I wish all the players were always "injured" like him.

You sound absolutely ridiculous. He had already won two Slams and a Masters this year before he "cried about being injured". Also, did you somehow forget Rafa pulled out of his IW match with Federer and Miami and went on to win 2 Slams and 2 Masters after that?

Those are just some decent little results though, not great results, as we have been told. ;)
