Djokovic trying for a 5th time

You sound absolutely ridiculous. He had already won two Slams and a Masters this year before he "cried about being injured". Also, did you somehow forget Rafa pulled out of his IW match with Federer and Miami and went on to win 2 Slams and 2 Masters after that?
So Nadal pulled out of IW and Miami and then started playing great tennis after a few weeks? Nope. He had one of his worst ever clay seasons before Rome, many fans thought this is the end of his career. Monte Carlo semifinal was arguably the worst match he ever played in his professional career.

Interesting analysis. I thought such remarks were just Djokovic hate remarks but where im a bit confused is how he is playing so well 3 weeks later. By that i mean if he had a bad injury that forced him to pull out that usually means at least 2-3 weeks off from hitting a ball to allow inflammation to go. Minimum. So while i expected him to play Tokyo, i also expected to see him rusty having not practiced but the way he has played suggest he has been practising for past couple of weeks. That is where my confusion is.

Djokovic often has a shoulder niggle but it's nothing more than that. Of all the top players, he has probably enjoyed the best health. Never had any serious injuries to impede him.

Do you even realize what did you just write? Yes, exactly, Federer had 6 months of rest. He fully recovered and practiced more than enough. Djokovic on the other hand somehow only plays better when he cries about him being injured. Seriously, I wish all the players were always "injured" like him.
Yes I do realize what I wrote because I used my brain to write it. It could do the trick if you would occasionally use yours before making comments.
Try to make connection between bolded part of post I was referring to and my answer. Maybe it could take you some time to understand, but I think you can do it.

Really? Already forgot 2017 and parts of 2018 and his elbow? He was non-existent

Oh pardon me sir, may I share my surprise to you with Federer's comeback after 6 months of absence ? Novak's few weeks are nothing compared to that.
Allegedly 36 old tennis player had knee injury after Wimby semi defeat, skipped the rest of 2016 and won his first official tournament as a comeback present - a Grand Slam. :sneaky:
If that isn't comeback of this century, I don't know what is.
Agreed

Yeah I guess he was just acting in the 2nd round to set up a future excuse just in case he lost. The 95 MPH first serves and all the weak/sliced backhands was just selling the act.
Strategic according to Djokovic fans at the time.

I trust their judgement.

Djokovic faked injury to avoid giving Stanimal a clean win at USO. That shoulder wasn't anywhere near as bad as what he made it out to be.
Yet he didn't train until 2 weeks ago. And that was no "Stanimal", as his matches against Lorenzi and Medvedev confirmed. Just lucky Novak was not himself and to have disgusting crowd on his side to heckle Nole whole match.

I haven't had the chance to post much but I'm happy that Nole won Tokyo with pretty much no resistance. A much tougher task in China. That begs the question, however, of why the eff is he doing singles AND doubles???!!!

This is a good question for @The Guru

What about 2013 Wimbledon? The claycourt bee's knees were definitely under duress, poor movement causing a straight-set loss to Darcis. A month later, RAFA resumes his onslaught and goes on a tear completing the NA HC sweep.

I don't remember Nadal (or anybody else) complaining about injuries in Wimbledon 2013. IMO he was just tired from the extremely though clay season.

If you want to blame Nadal for something you already have AO 2010. I don't like the fact that he withdrew like that in the end.

I don't think Nadal complained, contrary to his usual style - guess he didn't want to ruin the momentum - but something was clearly not right, watching his delayed movement against Darcis it seems clear the knees were bothering him. I figure it was a lesser inflammation that passed within weeks.

My point was that conditions causing acute pain on the day despite subsiding quickly after that are entirely real. I did not like Djokovic retiring a few games away from completing the match, like Nadal in your correctly cited example, but it's pretty daft to deny he was hurting out there.

Novak can't beat Stan in a Slam. Even when he does, it takes him 5 brutal sets to do it. His game doesn't match up to Stan's in a best of 5.

HoW DoES He dO It??

I know right? For example, Federer couldn't ever dream of having this impressive record as he always finishes his matches. He might not own the "heroic" record of winning titles after retiring from extremely debilitating allergies and eye infections, but he does respect the fans enough to finish a match once he started it. And you know what? The fans respect him in return. Funny how that works, no?

So much respect for the fans that he showed up to a WTF final in a sweater, only to play a few days later in his Davis Cup matches...

Against anyone but Stan, Novak is a beast. But his game means nothing to Stanimal in a Slam. Bludgeoned Djokovic twice on the same court.

I guess that's why his head to head against him is 2-1 at AO. Also, you say he bludgeoned him twice on the same court but you seem to forget Djokovic did the same to him, on the same court.

In reality the single most embarrassing moment in recent tennis history. Refusing to play the Final of one of the biggest events on the tour, just because you feel you don't have a chance against your red hot opponent that day. The epitome of chickening out at the last minute.

And 7 days later, et voila...:-D:laughing:

That is why it is impossible to argue with fans of such a team or a player they love profusely, because their arguments do not fit with logic and wisdom.

Nice try.

Yes and he was absolute arse in his return at DC, getting straight setted by Monfils and fed a breadstick in the process.

1) he did, however, putting the word ˝˝old˝˝ into this argument is irrelevant as that same guy has won a few slams since then, is world #3 5 years later
2) 2014 was pretty even for the two of them (3:3) with Novak obviously in solid form at the WTF
3) the point that Nadal_Django was making was not what you are focusing here but that Swiss Miss retired from the final of the WTF final match just to show up 4-5 days later like nothing happened and always justified by Fed fans, whereas every Novaks or Nadals retirement is analyzed in great detail

Just a note: Retired =! Withdrew.

Of course age is irrelevant, losing to Monfils is ignored, and Django is just a misunderstood fan of the game LOL.
