Djokovic v Federer - The biggest titles on HC

Hitman

Bionic Poster
The AO, USO, YEC are three of the five biggest events of the year, and are also the three biggest events on HC.

Djokovic now officially breaks the tie

Djokovic = 18 titles (9 AO, 3 USO, 6 YEC)

Federer = 17 titles (6 AO, 5 USO, 6 YEC)

In the masters it still stands as it was in 2021, not sure how many more Djokovic will win, but he probably has one or two HC masters likely left in him.

Also, considering how many USO runs he failed to win when he was favourite, he really should be at least tied with Fed there too.

Infact, he should have the record on every big tournament, apart from RG.

I wonder if he has 2 more opens in him ?

I don't think so. I think at best, he has one more USO in him going forwards and that is if he is allowed to play. It is either 3 or max 4 titles he ends up with. Think Federer, Sampras will have the most USO titles on HC for a while.

Djokovic has won each tournament at least once more and here is to hoping he wins at least once more again.

10 + 4 + 7
21 vs 17

HC GOAT easily.

Djokovic basically padded his stats in his 30s. In the presence of a prime ATG like a younger version of himself of prime Federer he probably wins 3-4 slams at best rather than 12 since 2018.
That's nonsense, what did you expect? Did you think Novak will retire when he turned 30 just to preserve Roger's record at the time?
With his exceptional health and care for his body, I'll be surprised if he retire before 40. So, don't be horrified to see these numbers go even higher, probability is very high. ..

Nothing to be horrified about, I basically stopped counting after 2019 anyway. If he pulls off some epic wins over a non choking Alcaraz/Sinner both playing well then I’ll give him his dues.

Winning a slam final over Ruud or Tsitsipas may as well be an ATP 250 for me.

Most recent that pops up are Cincy '23 and Turin '23 against both of them, am I wrong?

Second part about winning slam finals over journeymen remind me more of a certain period with slam finalists named Baghdatis, Philipoussis, Gonzales, etc...

Cincy was impressive. Sadly, Sinner sh*t the bed in the YEC final.

Gonzalez hit something like 42 winners to 5 UFE in his SF and took out a well playing Nadal. Definitely a tougher opponent than Ruud or Tsitsipas. Philippousis was a good grass courter and followed a clinical win over prime Roddick. Plus Federer was at his very peak. Definitely a stronger win than 2021 over Shapovalov and Berretini.

Gonzalez, Baghdatis, Philipoussis blah, blah, blah....
For some reason most of the ATP players, even legends of the sport as Rafa and Roger sh*t the bed against Novak, guess why...

For the second part, Tsitsipas itself is already more accomplished than the three journos mentioned above combined, and his not even close to the middle of his career, he'll achieve much more in the years to come. No argument here, really...
