I knew RG2022 QF would be the the last time they would ever play a meaningful match with both at the top of the game. So i mentally prepared before that match it was the last time, and im glad i did as now seeing Nadal officially bowing out isnt a big deal as the reality is his career ended on the podium at RG2022, and had he had better handlers they should have told him how injecting a foot daily for two weeks is the End.
Thank God for Sinner and Alcaraz. Literally saved tennis going into oblivion.

Novak wasn't at top of his game at RG in 2022 as he had missed so many tournaments and was still not in right mental zone after Australian open fracas at start of year. He was definitely well short of proper competitive match practice.

However, still a legitimate win for Rafa as was Novak's win at Paris this year. As Hitman says if you step on the court to play then and give it your all on the day, it counts.

Having said that no doubt Rafa was a monumental player and his place as one of all time greats forever has been cemented in stone or clay lol

I am nolefam. And my opinion don't count more than other nolefams but this is pure excuse and I hate excuses.

Nole faced Carlos in Madrid and lost in razor thin match then won rome.
