Even if he wins here winning here will be really a challenge since hardcourt you have a great challenge now and Add pressure to that, if djokovic does it here it will be as Epic as Rg win
I agree. I’m honest to admit currently Novak is not playing as well as Zverev or meddy but you can never write him off. He’s started slowly in slams before and came good in end. It’s gonna be extremely tough though with the pressure too.

On current form he’s 3rd favourite but things can change.

Now, has Novak finally picked up on the tactical change from Nishikori, because he lost every point he served to the forehand, then switched up to the backhand and held easily....

Feel like basically any top 15 player would be up a set and a break on this Novak, but Kei just ain’t that good. Not a bad day to play your worst match of the tournament if you’re Djokovic.

Playing like this, Djokovic definitely doesn't deserve to win this tournament.
And still looking good for my cheeky bet that the big 3 were done winning Slams after Wimbledon 2021.

Kei is waaaay too passive on these BP's and it's going to cost him this set. He just played a 5 setter the round before. The longer the match goes on, the worse his (already slim) odds of winning get.

I wonder if Djokovic looks around the court during the changeover and thinks oh yeah there's no lines people and then goes...Oh.

Anyone else annoyed with that automated "OUT" call?

It's fine, it's not too loud or too quiet. The voice isn't really annoying. I'm just so sick of hearing the exact same noise 200x a match for a week straight now.

Electronic line calling is just great, you never have to wonder about a close call in the middle of a rally, no bad calls to ruin great points, I bet players can play more freely because of it.

I'm just curious what Kei is thinking here. Because he has Djokovic in a very good place. Yes, he's behind, but really this is a good opportunity for him.

Kei is playing great with improved serves but Novak is in typical early round forms, trying to find slam forms...

Fifth sets forced by: Fritz, Musetti and Tsitsipas. All Next Gen as Tsits was 22.
Not that it matters but Fritz was already 23 at AO (10 months older than Tsits). Turning 23 doesn’t eject a player from NextGen. The term refers to being eligible for the first NextGen Milano championship in 2017. That rule said players born before 1996 could not participate. Thus, NextGen extends to Medvedev and Berrettini, born in 1996 and already 25 now.

Oh I didn't know that about Fritz.

One thing's for sure, this is a pretty punishing match for a third rounder. Almost two hours of match time already.
