Fat Dave is looking good on clay, his serve disadvantage is neglected on the surface.

Let's hope he crushes Djoko on groundies then.

He won't. Djokovic has the best ground game between the two, he can hit the crap out of that forehand, and is better in defensive than Nalbandian.

Look at Ferrer and why he is so good on clay, the clay game is very much about how good you are in defensive. Everyone one of these guys can smack that ball all over the court but in the end, the better grinders shall prevail. And Nalbandian can't defend for ****, best he can do is counter-punch, which is more suited for hard courts.

Nalby's strong suite is his ground game. On clay he gets extra time to setup for shots (he's one of the best shot maker) which is why he's a two time semifinalist at FO. I'm not too worried about Djoko's forehand if you seen how many UFEs he has on the forehand NOW. Let's see who wins the backhand battle.

I'm routing for Nalby, I want Rafa back at #2 plus I dislike Djoko's new outfit. SilkyShiny polyester gives me the creeps.

^^^You do have to be careful with the silky shiny outfits. Especially if they're black, you can end up looking like a waitress in a Chinese restaraunt.

The smart money is on Djoker of course given Nalby's lack of play over the past year.

But, he's more than good enough to beat Djoker on his day so we'll see. It should at least be competitive anyway.

Nice analysis.

Slim Dave, on the comeback trail, started Monte Carlo @ world no. 151 ..... So far this week, he's taken out the no. 12 seed and the no. 7 seed! No matter what happens tomorrow, Slim is a winner!!!

The smart money on this one stays in your pocket! I cant call it. My heart says Nalbandian, my head says Djokovic could but Nalbandian might! But I think Nalbandian can do it, I'll be praying for him. By the way, give over calling him fat Dave all the time. Pretty childish, and if you want to see fat, go to the WTA

This is a tough call but I picked Djokovic to win in my bracket challenge. Nalbandian seems to be playing well though and he can beat anyone when he gets hot.

Forehand: Djokovic (by a hair)
Backhand: Nalbandian (by a hair)
Serve: Even (usually Djokovic but not at the moment)
Volley: Maybe Nalbandian by a bit but I think this will be irrelevant
Movement: Djokovic

It's a close call since both guys have superior groundstrokes it's tough to foresee who's going to dominate the rallies. Djokovic definitely has the advantage in defending. I think it will come down to a mental battle.

Agreed. Slim Dave has performed beyond all expectations. He has nothing to lose tomorrow frankly. He should play without pressure, hopefully.

Nalbandian cruises to a straight-set win.

I'm not one of those Nalbyphiles, though. I just don't think much of Djokovic's game so far.

Hopefully Djoker will go all ball-bouncing mental and lose it or something but I'm not counting on it. The match could go in all sorts of directions, one definitely worth watching.

I think Nalbandian and Djokovic are both highly intelligent, so this will partly be a Battle of the Brains. Physically, Novak is 6 years younger and 3 inches taller and hasnt been through the surgery and time off that David has. Last year at Monte Carlo, Nole made it to the final, while David was knocked out in the 3rd round by Davydenko in 3. However, Dave only played two tournaments after Monte last year before he stopped due to his hip problem. Meanwhile, Djok's match tough, even if he hasn't done as well as expected so far this year. The odds are against Nalby, but I'd love it if he would win.

Fat Dave is not meant to be rude, that's his nickname back then just ask any of his argentinian fans.

But I do like the term - Slim Dave.:)

Man,I'm drooling over this one, could be a terrific match if both of them are on.I'll pick Novak in 3 but really no score would surprise me in this one.

so excited for this one!!! i hope it lives up to expectations.
i voted for nalbandian in 3, but i voted with my heart. still, it'd be amazing if he could keep this up.

nalbandian needs to freaking win a couple of grandslams. Hopefully he stays injury free..
I find the DJOKER v. annoying. I hope bandian comes thru!
