Here's all 5 exhilarating hours of one of history's greatest matches. Relentless attack vs relentless defense. Djokovic was pushed all the way to the brink by Wawrinka's absolute fearless aggression, but then raised his own to meet the daunting challenge on his hands. 5 hours and 2 minutes of pure, thrilling quality tennis ensued.

IMO, in the top 5 matches of the 2010's.

Much like with Soderling at the 2009 FO, I doubt anyone expected Wawrinka to come out of the blocks like that on that day. This was Novak's Soderling moment and to his credit, he survived it.
He survived it once, but he could not survive it twice.

4 BPs for Stan to serve for the match at 4-4, including the forehand blast that the umpire said was out which caught half the line... Oh, well...

Breaking Novak's serve 5 times in a row

Super match, the very best of entertainment! Thanks for posting

This match played itself out like a movie - nonstop action, great pacing, specific intense story beats, and a thrilling climax. Arguably the most entertaining match of all time.

First set is a beatdown, second is TRASH, third is good with them getting into the swing, fourth is AMAZING, fifth is as boring as Isner-Mahut until the all time great of a last game. I like their US Open match that year better than this one overall, and I think this is probably bottom of the pile of Novak's quartet of badass slam 5 setters that year.

You’re quite underselling the fifth set, imo. Well, the whole match too, but particularly the fifth set.

Such a shame that Magnus Norman isn't coaching one of the young guys.

Underrated match, too. I remember when the ATP put together their best matches of 2013 at the end of the year, they put the Djoker-Delpo Wimbledon semi over this match, which will forever be an unforgivable sin.
The most unforgivable sin is to say "fedr"..
Always say "feder"

This is where the great modern era rivalry took off. How many more great matches have we witnessed between these two warriors since this one? I also feel the same way about last year's USO match as the beginning of the great rivalry between Nadal and Thiem.
