Djokovic will become Hardcourt GOAT on Sunday

Very possibly yes. You would still have to compare him head to head with Federer for the various statistics on hard court, but it would put him ahead in the most important category- grand slams.

I don't think anyone will argue that if Novak wins he becomes the greatest player of all-time on hardcourts and on his way to becoming GOAT.
Why would you think that? He would match Federer on hard court major wins but Federer has Possibly a slightly better record in slam hard court runner-ups and semi-finals than Djokovic (djokovic 4 runner-ups, 3 semi finals; Federe 3 runner-ups 10 semi finals). Pretty even really.

Roger has five USOs and Novak would get three. Similarly Roger has 4 AOs to Novak's six. They're dead even. Djock is only better at the AO thus far.

If Djokovic wins then he's won the last 4 hardcourt slams. He's also won the last 6 Hardcourt Masters and the last 4 WTF.

He'll have more Masters though.
Masters have never mattered historically. Both Fed and Sampras have regularly sacrificed Masters in order to be fresh for the slams when the "egg" was not an option. The hype around both Olympics and Masters stemmed from Agassi and the media machine behind him. I doubt Roger is losing sleep over the fact that Novak has more masters wins. Especially when, between 2008-10 when he was chasing Pete's record, he barely won much and still isn't trailing by a whole lot.

Yes but the fact that they're even in the slams means that this counts as the tiebreaker. Masters are very important and counts towards the legacy of Djokovic and Federer.

You're wrong. It won't change a thing.

All the fan boy clubs will be lined up exactly the same way. ;)
Djokovic will tie Federer on number of slams on hardcourt but will have more Masters and WTF. Djokovic will be greater that Federer on Hardcourts with more slams to come.:cool:;);)

Man, you are talking to the WRONG person!

I've already taken a huge amount of heat defending Novak's HC record, and I'm not in any way a fan of his tennis.

You're up against Pete and Fed fans, and if you want to win arguments with them, best wait until they are dead and can't talk back. :D

Fed is the greatest HC player of all time! The variety of his titles on the surface, from super slow to super fast, is too great for anyone in this generation to be compared to IMO. He is also the greatest WTF player, he's won them on super fast outdoor(Houston), super fast indoor(2006-2007) and really slow indoor courts (London).

Novak has won them on Super fast Indoor in 2008 too also defeated Roger in his home tournament Indoor Basel... Roger is losing ground quickly on Hardcourts but STANIMAL can still save the day for him...

So it's impossible for Novak to ever surpass Fed right, he could win 20 HC slams and it wouldn't matter because the speeds weren't diverse enough for your liking?

He is already the greatest Hard Court player, Roger has never come close to Djokovic's dominance and consistency in winning hard court titles in the majors, masters and world tour finals.
