There are few threads here about probability he will brake Fed's 310 weeks record (282 guarantee at the moment)...

Its boring reading because he will, off course... I was convinced like forever he will get it, because of his unprecedent constancy, I was convinced even during his 2016\17\18 two years slump... Can't find my ancient posts on that subject, but I thought he will have record even when he was far away...and I even wrote he will have more than 400 weeks...

I think he will get 400 weeks, with no problem, it's "just" 2 more years, it's likely to happen in my opinion...

So vote please... Poll will be closed in 10 days...

I don't know about 400 weeks, but I do think he can get 350 weeks. Novak is planning on going nuclear for about two seasons, including this one, after which he will likely slow down and spend more time at home watching his kids grow up. His mind will then be on slams primarily, and he probably wouldn't be having enough points as a result to hold the top spot.

So I will say no, going with what Novak himself has said, but 350 is the target he will get IMO. That is almost like 7 years as world number one, that record will be insanely hard to beat.

More than 400 is a bit much maybe, that's two and half years in a row from now on. But the record, yeah that one is not really in doubt anymore. Only Rafa winning one of the Sunshine double and dominating clay at least in 2017/2018 style can put a temporary stop to it, and then Djokovic would probably have to lose points at Wimbledon as well.

However, Djokovic himself can get tons of points if he takes this good form into the Sunshine double, neither of which he has won since 2016.

Obviously, yes he will. Everyone knows it, there have been threads indicating that Novak will reach 400 weeks as #1 since mid-2019.

You mean 2000 years 8-B

Link? We should delete this thread, and continue old one, its more interesting that way...

I agree with you, and think that sometimes, people should just appreciate the present, although it's fine to have goals - even as fans.

It's not as easy as these guys make it look at times, and getting a 6th YE#1 (which has just eluded him a couple times) would be a big deal, as would breaking the weeks record. Now, if Novak holds onto #1 all year, that could get him to about 350 (without doing the exact math with carryover into 2021.

Then again, one never knows when injury, illness or a dip in form (or other players rising to meet challenges) will happen.

Not likely, I will be happy if Novak gets 311 or more weeks at #1

We were all saying the same thing back in 2015-2016 how he was going to win all 4 slams, etc...

But i don't think it's going to happen with the recent injury streak history of his.

It mainly depends on his body holding up, and Rafa slowing down next year. And of course Nextgen being too inconsistent (which is proving being the case).

And remember, we wouldn't even have this conversation if Thiem had won 2 more games in that 5th set instead of Novak.

Unlikely thus (but not impossible)
