Djokovic will never have more WTF titles than Federer

Thanks to Zverev aka "Street", the most WTF titles Djokovic will ever have is six. Seriously, does anyone seeing him winning it after 2019? In fact, he may never win it again.

Djokovic really hasn't delivered in his last 2 WTF finals. It only gets harder as he acquires more mileage and other players start believing he is beatable.

But hey, back in Miami, it was doubtful Novak would even make it to the WTF, so it could have been worse.

Back in Miami? In late June, Djokovic was ranked #22 and many were doubting he would even get back in the Top 10

Yes, the last two tournaments left a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but as a Novak fan I'm thrilled by how the season turned out
 
Doubt he cares. It is not a big event, compare Djokovic reaction after losing yesterday to when he lost the Olympics.

Boris Becker has said in his book the year end championships are basically a corporate sponsorship event. He won it 3 times or was it 4?

His reaction has been much the same after losing Slam finals. Doesn't mean he doesn't care. The 2016 Olympic loss was especially heartbreaking for him because the opportunity to win it only comes round every 4 years. For other events, there is always next year.

Becker won it 3 times (1988,1992,1995) and made 5 other finals (1985-6,1989,1994,1996).
 
Djokovic, if he stays healthy, has a good shot to contest a few more WTF finals, so definitely still has a shot at eclipsing Fed. But I think his 5 WTF titles deserve an asterisk bc the 2014 one resulted from Fed withdrawing due to a back injury. So really, in my book, he has 4.

Olympics held every 4 years. I guess if Doha was held every 8 years that would make it more important than slams lol
 
Typical over-reaction by some folks here. Nadal, fed and Djok are ATGs for a reason. When you write them off, them come back and surprise you.

Zverev won a final fair and square(he also lost RR against the same Novak). It's ok. You win some, you lose some. The earth hasn't come down.

Big 3 are the greatest puzzle solvers. Ofcourse it also depends on the physical condition as a young gun will have more mileage left. But I wouldn't be surprised if Fed wins another WTF let alone Novak.

It rewards 300 more points than a GS final does. Djokovic needs every big title he can get from now on.

Let's not pretend like Fed was going to cause any damage to Nole, especially with his bad back. I'm glad he chose to withdraw from that final before worsening his condition. He learned from 2013 when he chose to play Nadal at IW while not fully fit.

in my opinion this is why he lost yesterday...he wanted so badly to tie fed with 6 tennis masters cup titles and it made him play extremely defensive and his body didn't want to move because of nerves...he will have more chances, but I also believe fed will get one more chance next year to win a 7th tennis masters cup...nobody knows what the future holds

If what you say is true, then it's baffling how people say Djokoer can equal Fed's slam count easily.

it is true and it wont be easy for djoker to supass fed in fact I truly believe it wont happen...one reason is because fed hasn't won his last slam regardless of what people say and another reason is because zverev and the new gen are here and will start winning slams soon

And Djoker's nerves will play a part too if it comes to that.
 
And then you your number one is more important than the world tour finals championship look at golf look at the FedEx Scott would you rather win the 10 million dollars and be known as a FedEx cup champion or just win the Tour championship meaning you be 30 guys in that one tournament

As impressive as his record is against the other members of the Big 4, it must be said that he doesn't bring it against hot opponents outside of the Big 4 in finals. Imo it nullifies any advantage that some Djokovic fans claim he has because of h2h.
