I'd like to assert the notion that Djo is already in terminal decline at a fast rate (can't even reach the final of the his strongest Slam anymore, let alone win it), and journeymen thoroughly dominates him.

Not only will he never win a Slam, but he will never win another TITLE (even an ATP 250. He's just not capable of that kind of level with his lack of talent and weapons.

Trying to rely solely on a clutch mental game (like winning tie-breaks) is not a winning strategy - you need the talent and the game in the first place otherwise mental toughness is meaningless. Djo has already overachieved due to his mental game, because in terms of actual tennis; he's nothing.

if he hand picks tournaments he can still win tournaments, but while Geneva made sense to play in as a warm up event, i would caution him looking to break Federer and Connors titles count by picking small events with weak fields given that there is already a perception of him being a vulture the last few years at the slams he won. Not sure its the best look if he broke the slam record without facing one of Fedal to do it then compounds that by breaking the titles record not facing Sinner or Alcaraz.

I have no idea why Fedal fans like to ignore history. Novak hardly ever played 250s. I don’t even care they did, Fed played Basel because it was his hometown and Nadal had a lot of Spanish tournaments. But don’t try to throw it in Novak’s face because he could have farmed 250s when they did but chose not to. He was only playing Geneva to get some practice in butI think he only chose to go for the title once he beat Arnaldi and saw Norrie in the SFs.

What separates Nole from the rest is not the talent or the skill but purely the defiance and will

Fedrer 103 and connors 109 are made up of many small tourney wins.
Connors was just playing for fun and making easy money so he can be somewhat excused.
Fedrer i think maximised this small tourney victories but no blame to him also as winning titles is always sweet.
I hope novak has still 4 more titles to pass fedrer . That is enough motivation for novak

He's extremely talented actually, in addition to being a hard (and smart)worker and tough as nails upstairs.

TTW are obsessed with every possible record honestly and they project that onto players.

Novak wasn't chasing Fed's or Connors titles total, he was just desperate for matches, rhytm and confidence.
