It sounds like Djokovic's father thinks he is going to produce the greatest season in tennis history at the age of 32/33. If so, that doesn't say much about the field.

Djokovic should simply become the ultimate heel character in all of tennis and embrace it. I think he's already transitionning since his failed attempts at being loved by the crowd in 2016-17.

He is already struggling to beat Thiem. Imagine what will happen in 6 years.
There is a difference: Djokovic now still can handle guys 6 years younger than him. At least, he can't lose on GS against them.
When Federer was old like Djokovic today, he could not handle guys 6 years younger than him, like Djokovic. Actually, he can't beat Djokovic on GS for last 8 years.

So, it's not strange Federer can't handle 6 years younger players - he could not do that even when he was younger than Djokovic today.
On the other hand, Djokovic can do it, so that looks promising.

Djokovic reaping the rewards of having his two main contenders off their prime, and still with MPs against in Wimbledon and unable to ever beat Nadal in the RG final.
Nadal is a year older than NOVAK, not sure what you mean about his “two main contenders off their prime”?? That puts him off his prime too, or for the sake of your (failed) argument, you consider Novak as a late bloomer?
I also believe that Wawrinka, Murray and a few others were also his “main contenders” and he’s done quite ok against them too.

on the other hand, racking up the slams by taking out the greats like Phillapousis, Roddick, Baghdadis, Gonzales, Safin, Hewitt, 80-yo Agassi, etc is really a tough feat.

Only two guys beat Rafa at RG in the last 15 years and NOVAK is one of them.
I don’t recall your genius doing it inspite having a few chances here and there. But, there is still time...

This “Serbia against the world “ is unfortunately a very common theme. I happen to have several Serbian friends, wonderful people, except they all have this obnoxious nationalism bordering on fascism. It is a frequent cause of disputes between them and the others.
I'm from Serbia, but I live in other country for years. I really don't care about any nationalism/fascism stupidities. I know here, also, a lot of Serbs. And they or my friends in Serbia are just fine as well. I have that kind of friends, probably because I don't like to spend time with people who are not educated or not smart enough to think anything but ethnic's or any other differences.

So, you really need to learn how to find right people to make them friends. Because... yes, you can't be "wonderful people" on one hand and on other "bordering on fascism".

Right now, serbian newspapers & television is unbelievable ridiculous. This particular article is from one of those news portals which causes brain farts to anyone who reads them in Serbia, regularly.

Portals/newspapers/television like this... all of them are pure garbage. Whoever can use his/her brain and lives in Serbia, doesn't read this.

Stories in this garbage are always like "Serbs against everybody" and any other nationalism bulls***.

Srdjan is known as a person who is not particularly smart, and he also caused me a lot of brain farts, so I don't have doubts that he said a majority of this stupidities, but also I think a lot of this stupidities were added by this portal, just to follow classical "chosen one", "Jesus", "Serbs against everybody" and other stupidities.

My experience with Serbs is excellent. I had Serbian PhD students, postdocs and other colleagues and all of them were excellent. I did not notice any ultra-nationalism there. On the contrary, some of them were more self-critical than, in my opinion, they should have been.

The US bombed Serbia in 1999 because of the Balcan War, so I guess some of that animadversion against the West seems logical. But this thing stems from even earlier, at least as far back as WWI.

No you sound confused. In one breath, you are in here trying to take the shine off his wins against Federer and Nadal, then bringing up 4 year old rumors about his marriage, and then in the other breath you are going on a rant about how nobody has to like a player. For one thing it's not about liking. It's about showing some damn respect which Federer fans have shown they are incapable of doing. Just a bunch of jerks mad about him slaying their god, again for the hundredth time, just like the people in the crowds, winning another Slam and getting closer to being the greatest himself. Funny how all of this stuff is such a hot topic after another Djokovic Grand Slam win. Federer fans are unbearable.
No, you are definitely a very confused and troubled individual. You should look at my post regarding Djokovic's "infidelity" in its proper context of the post I was replying to where that guy says Federer is a desperate old man and a bad father for not giving up tennis to take care of his family, and if you had paid attention maybe you would have noticed the smiley I put at the end. But not even a simple pictogram that a chimpazee would understand can help you, apparently.

People don't deserve respect inconditionally, that is earned. And Djokovic has disrespected the public in too many occasions to count. Those are the people who ultimately put money on his family's table. You don't disrespect the audience and insult them when you feel they are not giving you your due affection. While Djokovic's value as a tennis player and many of his personality traits are commendable (being a gracious loser is one of them,) there are many others like his arrogant and entitled attitude towards the public which really suck. I figure it is too late for him to learn now, but I can't really fault him after hearing some of the things his dad says. If he was educated in that kind of environment, what can you expect.

Kudos for singling out a whole fan base. Yeah, Fed fans = Horrible and Djokovic fans = Amazing humans. We get it.

BTW, I am primarily a Nadal fan, though I also support Fed and admire his style. Djokovic is too boring for me and I just don't like some of his antics, but I can appreciate what he continues doing, and if he ends up #1 good for him.

That's not true, he called them morons because they(the public) are trying to disturb his game by whistling and shouting when he is about to serve. Some players will just suck it up and lose but not Djokovic. It must be a big pleasure to shut up a whole crowd.

Prize money is taxed in the country where it is earned. Most countries don't tax the players another time. I'd actually wager that Federer is stimulated by Switzerland to uphold the residence.
This is not correct in the sense that it implies that prize money is ONLY taxed in the country where it is earned. That simply isn't true. Then, add to that the fact that these guys probably make more through endorsements, and you might begin to understand that Djokovic didn't move to Montecarlo because of the weather.

And Nole doesn't owe anything to Serbia. Serbia never invested one dinar in him and can only be thankful because he refused to change citizenship. Of course, all business he or his family does in Serbia is taxed in Serbia.
Do regular Serbian guys who have to pay their taxes in Serbia owe things to Serbia that Nole does not? Please elaborate.

Translation of an interview with Novak's dad:

"I didn't watch when Novak had medical issues [in final against Thiem], I was driving around the city for 1.30h and I came around the middle of the 4th set and fortunately he started playing [better]. For me, Thiem didn't win any set because Djokovic lost 2 sets and won 3 sets because everything depends on Djokovic, not only in the match against Thiem but also in the match against every other player in the world"
[question about Novak's support in AO]

"7 time AO champion plays on the center court where he never lost any match, in the final, and he plays against some Austrian and they cheer for the Austrian, just imagine that disrespect to Novak. That's just unbelievable but it's the same way as in London, New York, it's better in Paris, and the same [bad] in Madrid. That's a sport for rich people and they can't understand that someone from poor and small Serbia has been the best player in the world for the past 10 years. Cheering against him only gives him additional energy and he will become the best player in history by every parameter. He is the best in every aspect and he is Serbian from Serbia and when he ends his tennis career he will live in his country in his city.

That happens in every city around the world and he doesn't complain about that. In Sydney, when Serbia won ATP Cup, there were many Serbians and Nadal couldn't handle that and that happens to Novak for the past 15 years and he never complains. [following sentence directed to Nadal] Be a man, be a sportsman and tell him [Novak] "Well done", it's like that for him [Nadal] everywhere, in Madrid, in London, everywhere where is the rich Western world and they are "higher race" which they are not because we have shown that we are equal and old civilization so there is nothing to be ashamed of. "

...[talking about the war in Serbia and Novak singing songs about Kosovo]...

[question when does he expect Novak to beat the record for most GS titles]

"This year he will equal with him the number of GS titles because he will win the other 3 GS till the end of the year, he will overtake him for weeks at number 1 around 6th or 7th October, and also, he will win Olympic games in Tokyo."

No, Nadal isn't always injured when he loses. The 2019 AO obliteration? Do you think it is reasonable to expect Djokovic to beat Nadal at his best (and Nadal's worst) slam? What I think is crazy is how Nadal has beaten him twice in USO finals when Djoker is supposed to be better on HC.

As far as 2013, come on. Nadal was closer to winning the 2012 AO than that.

Soderling had to play perfect and redline that day to beat Nadal. Nobody has been able to do that before or after. It is a feat in itself.

Tough break for him. He had a bad case of mono (as opposed to a fake case of mono, no?) ;)

The chair umpires don't do anything most of the time. Yes, sometimes they say "shhhhh" or "Please". I also don't think Djokovic expected that they will shut up. He's just frustrated. Also it's not like it's the first time the audience is interfering with his game.

This is tennis, not lottery. He played against 38 year old guy because that guy won all matches before final, not because of luck.

And, it's unbelievable boring to constantly read that "old guy" argument. There is a reason why Federer still plays: he is probably afraid that Nadal and/or Novak will break his records, so he wants to extend them, and he believe he is still good to win another GS. If he believes that, and he was close a couple of times, who are you to talk about grandpas?

Not to mention, this "old guy" argument have been staying for years. His fans declared him as old when he was younger than Nadal/Novak today. It looks like Federer was old as soon as he left kindergarten.

Just excuse.

Federer pays taxes in Switzerland. If Nole loves Serbia so much maybe he should move to Belgrade and start paying taxes there, no?

As far as domination, let's wait until Djokovic is 38 years old and see how well he does against guys 6 years younger than him. 20 > 19 > 17.
It's his money, he earned it and you can envy him but he's still calling the shots on where he lives and pays taxes. Maybe he doesn't trust the government enough to pay taxes and doubts the money will be used for anything good other than pocket filling so he just gives it directly to the community through his foundation ? Just saying, most of us feel let down by our government on so many different levels here, who are you to blame him ( especially if you're not here ).

As for the 2nd part, when he's 38, Nadal will be 39 and Rog will be 44 so I expect him to be extremely happy with anything he wins or achieves as the before mentioned guys would be long since retired so virtually every achievement will be a record braking one. As would have been the Roger's 21st slam - that's the context.
