I simply don't take Fraud fans seriously when that guy lost 24 match points to Ned's 9 and Nole's 4. The reality is that GOATs in any sport simply can't be the supreme chokers that ole Rog was.
Oh man dude, Djoko could get first rounded for the next 2 years and I wouldn't care. The only thing I was personally insecure about was all of the media declaring Binner the new and improved successor to Nole and post-puke Jannik beating him badly for such a long stretch of matches. Both narratives destroyed with one incredible match.

And? He got lucky against Musetti, sure, but against Sinner nothing strange happened. It's like putting an asterisk in Sinner's victory against Alcaraz in Wimbledon because arguably he wouldn't have been there had Dimitrov not gotten injured. Different matches.
Alcaraz was in his 20s, Djokovic in his 30s, so Djokovic was not expected to win if tennis only matters in your 20s and not in your 30s. Djokovic has beaten Alcaraz at Slams, YEC, Olympics, and M1000, despite being much older. When he wins against Nadal and Federer it doesn't count because they are older, when he wins against Alcaraz, it doesn't count because he is younger, lol.
Alcaraz was not a baby when Djokovic beat him last year; he had the best year of his career and he was #1 and a slam winner as early as 2022. And both wanted that Olympic win as much as a slam, they said so themselves.

Getting 2 matches gap in between matches to help the old man is certainly very odd, with that gap a lot of people can win. Do you remember 38 year old Federer thrashing Djokovic 6-4, 6-3 at the ATP tour finals in 2019 ? That was again because it is BO3 and Djoko better SInner in a BO5 again because of the 2 match walkovers and massive rest which he got.... such wins are good but you cannot take them to be an anomaly..

Yeah but he lost the tournament. So the win against Sinner didn't really matter so much. That was always the deal - he might be able to squeak off a win here or there against one of these guys on their off day, but he can't beat both of them.

Djokovic didn't play against Mensik and was losing to Musetti who had to play his match. Not playing allows you more rest, but if it was such a dealbreaker Djokovic wouldn't have his worst match of the tournament right after not playing.
And against Musetti, he played 2 sets, only one short of a full match. He got lucky because he was losing routinely, but he didn't get a particularly big amount of rest before the Sinner match, only one set short of a full match.
I suppose Djokovic, Federer and Nadal are not "real men" because they cared about tons of Bo3 matches. Nadal mentioned the Madrid 2009 final as one of his most precious wins, Djokovic about the Olympics too.
Slams are more important not just because they are Bo5, but because they are more PRESTIGIOUS. You mention WTA, slams are played Bo3 in WTA, and they are far more important than the other events, which are also Bo3. You act as if the prestige of an event is related to the number of sets; there would be no difference between slams and non-slams in the WTA if that were the case.
The Olympics have a higher status in tennis now than they did in '88, when it was full Bo5 every round like a slam. SLAMS are more important than anything because they are slams, not because they are Bo5.
Djokovic would have put that Olympic gold above any other slam in 2024; Alcaraz not quite that high, but still VERY high, per his words. And if he goes two more Olympics without winning it (which would be a very long time, given it's obviously not a yearly event) he might put them even higher.

I absolutely dislike Sinner (as do most Djoko fans from what I see) but it's just a fact that the more he wins the better this semifinal looks on Nole's legacy ledger

Exactly, and this viewpoint being an actual outlook is fun to observe. It's as if the actual match wasn't enough; it needs a retroactive boost from something that has no actual bearing on that match. It conforms to the stereotype of fans looking for these sorts of by-proxy benefits.

Nope. Meaningless match as Djokovic didnt win the title. RG2022 QF was meaningful for example as Nadal went on to win the event. Djokovic not beat an ATG to win a slam since 2019
