Finally Novak Djokovic won his 4th US Open title in his 10th US Open final, but there's something curious about this stat:
He won 2 of 8 finals in outdoor conditions, but 2 of 2 in indoor conditions:
-Outdoor: Won 2011 and 2015, lost 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2021.
-Indoor: Won 2018 and 2023

Also, important to point out that Nole won 4 of 5 US Open finals after winning the first set, but lost all 5 finals after losing the first:
-After winning the first set: Won 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023, lost 2016.
-After losing the first set: Lost 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2021.

When Nole lost 2 sets or less on his way to the US Open final, his record is 3 out of 5, and 1 out of 5 when losing 3 sets or more before reaching the final:
-Losing 2 sets or less: Won 2015, 2018 and 2023, lost 2012 and 2016*
-Losing 3 sets or more: Won 2011, lost 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2021.

Discuss.

There's not much to discuss. When he's had a comfortable tournament he's done better, he's very good indoors, and he underperformed at the US Open a couple of times in the past.

What more is there to say?

Losses:

2007 - Federer
2010 - Nadal
2012 - Murray
2013 - Nadal
2016 - Wawrinka
2021 - Medvedev

The only losses that stand out are Murray and Medvedev

The rest, he lost to quality opponents playing big tennis.
