Do a lot of pros use XL racquets?

It's never really revealed among the men other than Roddick, though plenty of TW posters have noted that they believe certain players use extended-length frames.

Soderling's is standard length. But a lot of players use extended racquets. Maybe not in the top 10 but in the top1000 about 1/3 of players play extended and on the WTA more than 50% do

I am pretty sure Dolgopolov (spelling?) is using an extended length. The racquet looks really long.. Malisse for sure.

I've actually seen Malisse play in person and his racquet has to be at least 28 inches with a very long grip. Have you ever seen the spacing on his two-handed backhand? There's about 4 inches between his hands.

A commentator (I think it was Darren Cahill) said Malisse's racquet was 29" long. I don't know about that, but 28" for sure. I think Gilbert said Ferrer's was 29" as well but I doubt that.

Not correct, Malisse uses a racket that is 71 cm of 28 inches, i had one of his custom rackets...

Heard it too, and doubted it too.

Among the women, Marion Bartoli uses a 29 in to help her reach with the 2 handed forehand. I think 29 in. is the legal max. Wasn't there a big controversy with the Big Bubba a number of years ago?

29 is now the legal max. They changed it a few years ago from 32. Also, the standards for recreational and professional play haven't always been the same.

Also, to add to the original list: Gonzo, Massu, Benneteau, Nieminen, Canas (before retiring), Grosjean, Serra, Zimonjic, O. Rochus, Clement, Andreev, Ginepri, Sanguinetti, Luczak.

In other words, MANY.
