hi everyone anyone know if any pros use a Donnay Pro One OS or any Donnay racquet and have a paint job on it, i know alot of players use racquets with thin beams, and this racquet falls under this category, and i also know that this racquet company went out of business in the US a long time ago but that dont mean Pro dont have access to the racquet.....

thanks everyone

that is probably why and that sucks becuase its such a good racquet and people just dont know becuase its not as popular among players today

There is no such thing as The Donnay Tennis company anymore it's owned by a discount chain in the UK that uses the name to sell cheap socks & the only dealer that has a special make up racquet is this one. So no there are no PJ Donnay players.

yeah but pros could buy the racquet from TW or use the old donnay and use a paint job on top of the donnay like agassi did

what i am saying is that i understand there is no donnay company like before but the racquet that is made exclusively for TW.com is an excellent players racquet

Ok...we get it. It's an excellent racket ... like hundreds of other rackets. There are many "excellent" rackets out there...pros use what they used when they were growing up and/or what gets them the best contract, most money...etc.

dunno

If donnay is out of business then who made the TW DPOINT's? Or is it just their name on the racket.

The Donnay from Couvin, Belgium no-longer exists. Donnay only exists in name only. Sports Direct International (a British Company) bought Donnay in December 1996. Sports Direct International in the preceding years has closed the operations in Couvin, Belgium, moved operations to the U.K., moved Donnay down market where now the only racquets that have the Donnay name are low end recreational frames that are sold in Donnay branded stores, other sporting good stores in the U.K. controlled by Sports Direct, and uses the Donnay name on other sporting goods and apparel.

In 2004 Sports Direct International bought the DunlopSlazenger Group.

I believe that TW was able to have a agreement with Sports Direct International to have SMU's of old Donnay racquets that were originally designed in Couvin, Belgium and first made in Couvin, Belgium. The SMU's that TW has of the old Donnay racquets are made in China.

I hope I have explained everything sufficiently.

Enough all you haters! The guy has a perfectly valid question about a celebrated frame. Thanks VS for the breakdown on where things stand now.

Donnay was bought out by Dunlop years ago and now are only made in the cheapest factory that makes and supplies chain stores with them.

Yeah, it seems like in the month that I have been gone, this board has gotten really negative...

Anyways, Rusedski used a Donnay with a Dunlop paintjob if memory serves. But as for current pros, I don't think any do...

why would u say they are made in the cheapest factory, what does that mean,im sure they dont have just one whole big factory(the Cheapest factory) for donnay, they are probably produced in dunlop factories that would make more sense.and the donnay made today is a great stick plays very similar to the old version, just a little lighter, it doesnt feel like a cheap stick at all,it feels like awesome quality just as good as $200 frames made today....

i hope this time donnay sticks around and starts making bags and accessories.

Actually Dunlop does not own Donnay! Sports Direct International owns both Donnay and DunlopSlazenger Group. Sports Direct International Bought Donnay in 1996. Then In 2004 Sports Direct International bought DunlopSlazenger Group.

It is my understanding that the TW SMU Donnay's and Dunlop both use the same OEM in China.

That is correct. The Donnays even use the Dunlop handle pallets and the grip size sticker on the throat is right off of a Dunlop racquet.

Even TW's Donnay product page has "Dunlop" and not "Donnay" in the URL:
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCDUNLOP-DP1INT.html

I'm certain they are made by the same manufacturer in China as Dunlops are.
