Do Djokovic and Roddick hate each other?

Yeah yeah, they will say in the media, we talked and settled our differences, we're cool with each other. But is it true?

First Djok did the impressions of A-Rod and they were mocking as they most definitely were done kind of effeminately. Roddick clearly went after Djok at Arthur Ashe Kids Day last year, in their fun and games tiebreak, both wearing mikes, Rod tried a drop shot then tried to hit Djok. Djok looked at ARod and said, So that's how you want to play Andy? with a tone of disdain.

Then A-Rod kept changing the score in his favor when Djok was as usual soundly beating him. Then of course a few days later was the controversy of the Djok faking injuries in the Robredo match. Which spilt over after Djok beat Rod in the QF at US Open and there were rumors of a confrontation in the locker room after.

A-Rod is a physical presence who has a reputation for bullying smaller weaker players. Djok is not one to take anything from ARod. This match tomorrow could be a real grudge match and I believe it will be something very interesting to watch. Djok should win though but A-Rod is improved. THis could be a classic.

I'd like to see Roddick wallop Djoker on the court, but I'd gladly take a physical beating as a nice consolation prize. I just don't like Djoker, even though he seems to have turned his horrendous attitude problems of the second half of last year around, at least for the camera eye.

I'm guessing they do hate each other very much. I hope Roddick's rage will juice up his serve and groundstrokes to blow away Djoker.

Oh, and Roddick attitude was great over the years...
The most annoying player on the Tour...

As for the "physical beating" comment -- what else can you expect from the AMerican, intellectual beating???

On the other hand, he looks good at the 09 AO, so...I think he has some chance.

I think there are a lot of players that dislike each (or both of them) as well. the Roddick Djokovic thing is because Roddick is jealous of Djokovic's hair.

what.... ass

Oh yeah, forgot about that! (feud at the end of last year)

Wow, this will be an interesting match.

I hope the media doesn't play this up and put a lot of attention on this..
or have they already?

I think that maybe Djoko made some out of the way comments about Roddick. Roddick surely returned his own comments about Djoko. The difference is that Roddick probably doesn't take smack talking as just an on court challenge or plain old argument. I'm sure he wanted to throw down with Djoko to shut him up. And I'm sure he would have succeeded in beating him down. That's just how I percieve Roddick's attitude. Djoko's a confident guy and everybody knows what kind of comments he's been responsible for and the same goes for Andy so I wouldn't be surprised if things got physical.

i think they should both make remarks to eachother it be awesome.i prefer andy of novak but still its going to be fun to watch.

Roddick should not say anything bad about Djokovic or he'll get all the Serbian fans against him. He should not make the same mistake that Djokovic made at the U.S. Open.

I would like to see Djokovic get tagged with a serve à la Santoro.

I would love to see a 140+ mph body shot serve.

Happy for the victory,
you're right it's a 'screwed up' pic.. okay.

I'm not opposed to finding a better pic.

thanks for helping.

No, I expect chair throwing. Wait, those weren't Americans.

Honestly, I don't think they hate each other.

I don't think they hate one another--they are though, competitors that rival in the moment. They love competition and that which surrounds it....Can't wait for tomorrow :)

I wonder if the controversy is going to be obvious in the match tomorrow. If it does, I hope the commentators will pick up on it. I am guessing that each one of them will be going out of their way to blow the other out of the water. The classic battle of the "ego". So things like, trying hard to service aces, going for broke winners and unnecessary fist pumping and yelling would be obvious signs.

Of course I am going along with what you guys are saying about the whole situation. I never knew about the whole rivalry.

Not only people on tour, but how many tennis fans hate Novak? I do.

Djoker has a big mouth.

Roddick is just a flat out @ss.

They both have the type of personality to **** people off so when paired together they tend to bump heads.

But after watching some of Andy's smart @ss remarks and faces towards line judges/chair and oppenents during this AO I want Djokovic to win.
