do nikes run small 1/2 a size?

so i went to academy today and saw a pair called air max nike smash. i guess its the predecessor of this shoes the resmash

looks similar but more white and no blue. original price $59.88, and because of the 88 cent ending, it was 1/2 off and i got it for $30. really nice and slick looking and the guy there said nikes run a size smaller so i got 9.5 because once again, they didn't have my size 9. i tried it on and it fits like a size 9. but just checking whether its true or not

I think its true, cause I Normally wear a size 10.5 but in my nike running shoes I have to get 11

AFAIK, 1/2 is for the width.
size 10&1/2 shoe should be slightly wider than size 10 shoe

I'm not a big Nike shoe wearer, so I can only give my experience with the BFII. The BFII, in my experience, fits true to size. The shoes have a little more toe space than I normally expect from Nike.

I really liked the Nike Smash, I got them at an outlet for $50.00 I still have them but they are worn bald. Anyway I usually wear a 12.5-13 in street shoes but I got a glove like fit in the Smash in a 12.5. Then when I went to buy some new Nike ReSmash I could not get them in 12.5 so I tried on some 12's and they fit perfectly (Actually I have to wear thicker socks to make up for some roomy-ness). So, Either my feet are shrinking (doubtful) or Nike sizes really need to be tried on everytime.

On a side note I thought the Smash was a little more comfortable, but the ReSmash ride lower which I like, even at the cost of a little cushion. Also I think 75 is a little too much for what you get, so try to find them on sale.

Yeah I would agree with this too, I bought some basketball shoes and I was wearing 9-9.5 shoes. I tried 9 on and it was way too small, so I ended up having to go with a size 10.

My mom worked at a sporting goods store before we moved. She told me that nikes run 1/2 size small.

for a while i thought adidas ran 1/2 large. now i agree that nikes seem to run a little small. i guess i have been wearing them for so long that i just got used to their size. nike definitely seems to run 1/2 size smaller than adidas.
