A local club is trying to play pickleball on clay, the green har-tru I think it's called. Is this something happening anywhere else?
I would think so, it seems a little silly to me. I need to watch some actual play, wonder if the plastic ball gets dirty.Have not seen that at our local clay courts. Wouldn’t that slow it down so that it is next to impossible to play?
The green stuff is like kitty litter. No where near as fun as the red stuff. But it would still make the ball dirty.I would think so, it seems a little silly to me. I need to watch some actual play, wonder if the plastic ball gets dirty.
Ahahaha, when I don't clean my shoes well enough and I get the green clay in the house, I blame it on the cat.The green stuff is like kitty litter. No where near as fun as the red stuff. But it would still make the ball dirty.
They needed more courts to steal and ruin I guessdirty or not....this does not sound like fun
my guess is that some folks just wanted to play PB and a har tru court was available.
Great guess, but nope, this is the facilities pros trying to shove in pickleball on clay, I don't play pickleball, but I was guessing this is a pretty unusual thing to try on clay.dirty or not....this does not sound like fun

By using tennis balls on clay for pickleball ? Not seen it but I've heard things, I've heard things. The ball barely bouches on a hard service..
Not even sure how it could be played on clay service.
Tennis balls break pickleball paddles..
At the place where my mother lives (World Tennis Club in Naples), they had a single clay court that had the under-court irrigation system installed. Nobody liked the court, and it was the last one to be booked (some even preferring to go to the hard courts if that was the only clay available).A local club is trying to play pickleball on clay, the green har-tru I think it's called. Have your tried it?Hmm. Take two separately horrible things and combine them to form something magically worse than either.
Who would do such a preposterous thing? What’s that? Florida, you say?
As I was…
I’m reminded of a quote from one of the contemporary American cinema greats, from Mr. Samuel L Jackson:Have your tried it?
Innisbrook FL also has hartru pickleball courts. I saw them and scratched my head, but probably trying to cater to the older population that plays. I can't give feedback because if I'm on court it's a tennis court sorry.A local club is trying to play pickleball on clay, the green har-tru I think it's called. If 80% of the hits are volleys before the ball touches the ground, court surface shouldn’t matter that much.
