Do you have style on the tennis court? (Tennis attire)

Just wondering if anyone else puts any thought into what they wear when they play tennis. Do you make a conscious effort to wear the same brand, matching colors, coordinate gear, hat, wristbands, etc when you play? Or do you just grab the first pair of shorts and T-shirt within reach?

Shoes: Asics
Shorts: whichever I grab first - fila, wilson, adidas, champion
Shirts: whichever I grab first - fila, wilson, adidas, nike, underarmour, whatever brand the club gave me
Socks: black or white, I just make sure they don't have any holes

I've been known to wear a green shirt with red shorts, not on purpose, just what I pulled out.

As it takes all of 2 to 4 seconds to decide that a shirt and shorts look decently together, I suppose most of us give it that much thought. If you're worrying about whether they're the same brand of not, you might want to see a therapist.

Actually, my deal is wearing a C-9 poly shirt that is light and breaths. If I were 20 years younger, it would be more socially acceptable for me to wear no shirt at all (which is what I'd prefer). Sometimes, if there are no impressionable young ladies around, and it is hot, I'm quite willing to toss the top and go shirtless. Shorts? I wear swim trunks, since they're light and sweat dries as well. I like wearing wristbands.

I've noticed the worse a player is the more style they have. Conversely all the best players i know don't care about style. As long as your shoes are quality is all that matters

Yeah. Good shoes are a MUST.

Always same brand for polo and shorts, and, if not too difficult, wristbands and socks.

Shoes , whatever I want to wear at the moment.

It takes several seconds, though, so I don't understand what the trouble is.

With that said, wearing the same brand doesn't make one stylish.

You know, in high school, there CAN be the psych out factor, meaning, a player can freak out if he sees he's going to be up against Joe Country Club Togs. But of course, a victory over the Shiny Guys always just feels right. I suppose there are some who coordinate, fashion, etc., with an eye toward trying to psych out their opponent.

The Borat Slingshot looks good, looks like it wouldn't interfere with a good service motion.

I have like 10 pairs of shorts that are all the same, 15 long sleeve sun shirts (they keep you cool when sweaty too). I wear the same thing everytime, only slighty different colors.

New balance shoes because they have good bottoms and a warranty if needed, i play mostly hard courts

The only thing that has to match for me is my racket brand and my bag brand. I was using this super nice yonex 12 or 16 pack. Then stopped using yonex rackets and was a bit embarassed, so picked up a wilson 12pk.

I have 6 shorts, three black and orange and three blue and green, I grab the first one I find clean, the shirts are all over the place so I've been called Captain America because I showed up three times in a row with three different CA t-shirts, I just grab whatever it's clean.

I’m a self admitted Nike-Aholic so all my stuff is the same brand. I don’t think I need therapy, lol but I do like to coordinate my gear. It stems from my working out. I’m inspired by gear that matches and has style. So that has certainly transferred to the tennis courts and I enjoy it.

So, I can't play like Roger, and won't try to dress like him. Plus, who wants to pay that much for a shirt?

The RF polos have just a normal sleeve opening, and I am a little taller and a little heavier than you, and still fit comfortably in L.

I thought that noone pays full retail price for these things, or am I wrong?

Well also, there are several apparel companies that don't manufacture tennis specific shoes. Uniqlo, Lacoste, Sergio Tachinni, Under Armour (though they are getting out of tennis altogether), etc.

I'm very matchy matchy when it comes to colors lol. Well, maybe not matchy matchy, but I don't like to mix colors that don't go well together. Some people can just throw on anything and not care, but for me, I tend to stick with things that go together, especially when it comes to my wristbands and shoes. I don't know, but for some reason I just have a hangup about what color goes well with things.
