Do you like Fast, Med or Slow courts

I always play my best on slow hard courts. The only surface where I can play at a 4.5 level due to my quickness and speed. Being a counter puncher the slow court helps.

I played a few guys who blew me off the court on fast courts but on slow courts we were pretty even.
Fast courts is really hard for me.

I find slower high bouncing courts place a premium on consistency above all else and having to generate more of my own pace makes me less consistent.

For others, it is the opposite.

Medium courts, gives a decent amount of time to set up shots and somewhat helps to reward you for your good shots.

I like slower courts because you can get to more balls. On the flip side, it is much harder to put balls away, at least for me. You always have to be thinking your ball is going to sit for the opponent and be ready for them to get to a ball you normally wouldn't think they would.

I do fine on hard courts but I can hang with better players on clay and often win with endurance and longer points

I would probably say medium or medium-fast. They seem to suit my all court game, serve, and flatter compact strokes. In my younger years I would have probably said fast. But after aging (now 42), I feel like my reflexes are a littler slower than they used to be, I don't move as fast either. Slow courts give my opponent too much time to track down balls. I prefer to be on offense controlling the points when possible.

I have some 4.5 wins on the slow hard courts. I would say 4.5 on slow hard.

On fast hard courts I feel like a 4.0
On Clay about low 4.0 and Grass about 3.5

Couldn't say I've never played on anything but a hard court.

Out of hard courts I definitely prefer the less gritty faster ones.

Why?
Ball bounce lower
Easier to hit winners
Easier to slide

In my younger days, as fast as they could make 'em. We played on crossover basketball courts back in college. Flat shots and slice were deadly. Now my reflexes aren't what they once were at 37. I still prefer a faster hard court to medium fast. The slow courts kill my footwork, especially with one replaced hip and another that will need to be replaced in the coming year or so. Short quick strike points do a body good but only at a level the reflexes can match ;-)

In Tahoe there's an indoor bubble court over 8000' elevation. Fastest court ever, a lot of fun, but I prefer medium regular type courts 3500 to 6000 foot elevation :)

I'm still a little quicker than most of the geezers I play with, so prefer a quicker court. The slower surface seems to even things out a bit (not to my ad). Give me a quick surface please.

I prefer slow hard courts. Gritty and textured so there is a ton of topspin hop off the court and slices stop on a dime. Kinda like clay too but hate the sliding and awkward timing.

It's not so much fast vs slow courts, though I do prefer faster courts. I like VERY LOW bouncing courts - like where the ball barely bounces up much at all. Much harder for topspin and defensive players and favors S&V, etc.
