Is everyone here a fan of only one of the players of the Big 3 and always want the other two ATGs to do poorly? If you read most of the posts in the Pro Player section, you would get that impression that everyone is in one of the camps and hates the fans in the other two camps.

Is there anyone who likes the tennis played by all of them and counts their blessings when they get to watch one of their matches live? I am fairly neutral when I watch one of their matches and usually want the player playing the best tennis on that particular day (by my ‘eye test‘ as the match progresses) to win as I feel that they deserved to win. The truly epic matches are the ones where the ’eye test’ does not show one player being dominant and you don’t know who will win until the last point is over - 2008 Wimbledon final, 2011 USO semifinal, 2012 AO final, 2013 FO semifinal, 2017 AO final and 2018 Wimbledon SF. I felt elated after all those matches just from the high level of tennis I got to appreciate even if it was only on TV. (PS: In contrast, I stopped watching the 2019 Wimbledon final late in the fourth set and went to play tennis because I thought both Federer and Djokovic played poorly for large stretches of the match and I didn‘t care who won after that).

Tennis Channel is showing a replay of Anderson/Zverev and Fritz/de Minaur matches tonight - yikes! In a few years, we won’t have any of the Big 3 to kick around and we will be forced to watch these other players who haven’t impressed so far in Slam finals. I for one am appreciating these last few years of the Big 3 even more - like an aged fine wine that will go bad in a few years if I don’t drink it right now.

Is there a ‘silent majority’ out there who likes all three players?

I'll admit I do prefer Fed and would like the other 2 to fail, bit that's just a normal sport instinct and not a desire of mine.

I do consider Djokodal exciting to watch sometimes, especially Nadal. I liked Djokovic's play back in 2007-2008 and 2011 when he was more aggressive. Not really a fan of his style since 2015.

At this point I have outgrown the GOAT debate a bit. Whoever becomes GOAT has earned it.

I'm a Djokovic fan, but do respect the longevity of Federer and the elegance of his game. I also admire Nadals fighting spirit and mental strength. Just because you like one member of the BIG 3, doesn't mean you have to hate the other two. Although i like Novak, I find him (at times) a bit arrogant. Especially with the whole Adria tour, covid19 debacle. It could have been managed alot better and he deserved all the criticism he got for that one !

I'll cheer for Federer unless he faces my top favorite players. And other than Djokovic, Medvedev, Del Potro... And maaaybe Nishikori and Cilic, I can't think of any other active player I prefer over him.

Nadal can lose any day and I wouldn't mind at all lol.

I like Djokovic and Murray. Federer is okay too. I guess.

I was a Boris Becker fan, briefly, then a Lendl fan until he retired and that's about as far as any fandom of specific players ever went for me.

I often have a preference for the outcome of matches involving the big name players and I will always root for my home country's players in any matches they're involved in but ultimately I'm just a fan of good tennis. The big 3 have played an awful lot of extraordinary tennis over the last 15 years but I'm, quite frankly, over them and have been since about mid-2017.

Pete is my all-time favorite. Among current players: Nole first, then MuryGoat. I don’t dislike the other Big 3 but I don’t want them winning any more Slams. I like Rafa’s personality but his incessant buttpicking turns me off. Plus he’s a lefty (or at least plays as one) and they can’t be trusted. :p I like Roger’s play style even more than Nole’s, but for some reason his personality off-the-court doesn’t do it for me.

I like all of them, but I have for years wanted new players to hit the scene.
I'm not one of the many who cling on to a rusty golden era.

Not a fan of Rafa's on court stuff, obviously. Who are, really, if you're honest? Annoying af.

I enjoy watching all the Big Three, but also people who come close to getting titles, and keep persisting. Most of all I enjoy adventurous creative players, past and present. Inconsistent Dolgopolov always made me laugh and sometimes put me in shock with his unexpected excellence.

I loved watching that guy, I always thought he was a very unique player with a lot of talent never brought up and used.
What happened to him? Injured?

Fedr is my favorite player. Nadal is probably in the top 5, maybe top 3.

As for Djokovic, I can certainly respect him as a player, but I just don’t enjoy watching him as much as Nadal and Federer. Seems like a nice guy off-court, though. Well, minus all the no-vax stuff, heh heh.

Although I'm Djokovic's fan, I don't want Fed and Ned to fail. I don't consider them failing as something good for Novak, quite the opposite.
My ideal scenario is that no one of the big3 fails in any way, but Novak finishes as the best among them, despite their best effort.

I don't even dislike Fed/Ned. They are great players, and a perfect rivals to Novak.

Whoever wins the goat race, it will be deserved, and he will not end too far ahead of the other 2.

Same here. I root for Fed, but like Rafa as well.

I like Djokovic a lot, Nadal a little, and Federer not at all. But I don't think any are bad people (they are sheltered athletes though who don't care about us one bit)

I started watching right at the peak of Federer's invincible stretch. Originally I found it hard to like him. He was too robotic, too polished for me to ever root for. Over the years I started to appreciate him as a player and just a great guy in general. Still wouldn't root for him against anyone except maybe Kyrgios.
Djokovic had it all for me: aggressive baseline shotmaker, incredible talent, insane athlete, and carried himself with a little cocky swagger while maintaining the champion's class and sportsmanship. Instantly made me a fan for life when I first saw him on TV.
Nadal is an amazing role model too. Few people I admire as much as him. He's a true warrior on and off the court, as well as a total class act. Reading his book gave me a whole new dimension of respect for both him and Uncle Toni - the discipline, work ethic, sportsmanship, humility he's shown his entire life is just incredible. Never thrown a racquet in his life, most gracious winner I've ever seen. He's something of a mythological hero to me, and probably to many other fans. His game can physically hurt for me to watch, but as a person he's what everyone should strive to be. We can't all move like Djokovic or hit like Federer, but we can commit ourselves to be the very best we can like Nadal.

Not criticizing a personal opinion, but genuinely curious. Federer is possibly the least "robotic" player I can think of. He is the epitome of variety, shotmaking skill and graceful movement. For most people, a robotic player is someone like Raonic or Isner, or Sharapova. What is robotic about Federer, it seems to me the antithesis of what he's been the last 20 years.

Respect their tennis, like high level showings from all three. Personality, only fedr. Noel is a hard nut while Rafi is a humbalito. Deliver us from Fred's angry moments too except in play, only smootherer/dorkerer allowed.

Not peak. I meant I like all big3 to be physically healthy and mentally stable when playing vs each other.
"Owning" is such a rare occurrence among them, I consider them extremely close in a sense of ability / achievements / greatness, nuances away from each other.

And yeah, if Novak comes on top in the end - I will be pleased, knowing he had to beat 2 other goats.

Ship already sailed, look at all the chokes and dips.

Feels good enjoying his physical advantage over both for seven years and counting :)

I don't know them personally. I can't tell. Anybody here does?
My coach gets coaching credentials at Indian Wells every year as he is friends with many lower-ranked Russian players and this gives him access to the locker rooms, workout rooms etc. He has stories about all the players from meeting them for more than 10 years during the IW Masters tournament. I asked him recently about the Big 3 and he told me the following:

- Federer is polite and will sign autographs/take pictures, but otherwise has no interest in gettting to know my coach even though he has seen him every year for a decade.
- Nadal will stop and chat with him and usually it is serious conversations about working out or other topics. Nadal also will often play two rounds of golf in the morning when he has matches at night. It seems that he is an obsessive golf enthusiast.
- Djokovic seems to deserve his nickname ‘Djoker’ as my coach says he is warm and friendly and jokes around with him and other people all the time. He seems to have a genuine interest in getting to know my coach - I asked my coach if Djokovic speaks Russian as I was wondering if there was some affinity from being able to speak in my coach’s first language, but that was not the case. I also heard a very funny story about how Nole reacted when he couldn’t find his car in the IW parking lot.

Second-hand stories from how they behave when they are on a ‘business trip‘ and doing business which is what a tennis tournament is for a pro player. Might not reflect how they are in their private lives.

Federer has been my fav player to watch for a while now...I've warmed up to Nadal in recent years but can't seem to do that with Djokovic.

Novak will forever be the LeBron and Ronaldo of tennis for me, they're amazing at what they do and I respect them a lot for it, but I just don't ever see myself rooting for them to win anything lol

For me, it isn't even his game, it's the endless ball bouncing and for years he took 25-30 seconds between points (so did Rafa). Lots of people prefer a quicker pace of play and are just bored and driven crazy by the ball bouncing. This GOAT video on the ball bouncing is this...:-D

Federer is the most robotic of the three to me, by far. Nadal is quirky, Djokovic is clumsy and he's Mr. Perfect. He always looks the most polished, he's always dressed a certain way, he always has the best media coverage, he plays stone faced with almost zero emotion, he always seems to be on autopilot. I don't find him relatable but he's a damn good tennis player.

His tennis is beautiful but he doesn't let you in which is why I can't relate to him. I like that barbaric and primal desire on the court tbh but everybody has their own preferences.

Incorrect.

jk, I see what you mean. For me, it's really all about how fun the tennis is to watch. I get that excitement more from Fed (and to a lesser extent Nadal) than from any other player. I don't really care a whole lot about the personalities (and it wouldn't make a difference to me since all three seem to be pretty nice)... unless it's Zverev.
