Do you miss Amelie Mauresmo?

Mauresmo hasn't been playing for quite a time after winning 2 grand slams last year.. Pretty sad to see that she's not at her top.. she has one of the most beautiful games in women's tennis, you don't see players serve and volleying as much as she does in women's game.. and of course she has slices, one handed backhand... everything...

After her appendix surgery, its quite obvious that she's not what she was in last year... And she also lost her motivation..

Anyone can predict how she will do in next year?

It would be a welcomed change by me. Better than watching the sea of Sharapova clones that is the WTA.

If we all had to watch WTA matches in person, we'd all, I'm betting, gain quick appreciation for Mauresmo. I was never really a fan until I saw her in person. In person, her game is quite lovely. Lots of variety and from the neck down, her body is feminine, coltish even. I became a fan after watching her in person.

I was surprised, though, but how underpowered her forehand was. At least on that day, it was too spinny and sat up a lot. But her backhand was butter and she was competent at the net. Very sweet game.

You know, I was always hoping I'd get to see her at the Advanta tournament in Philly someday, but since they got rid of it...I probably missed my chance.

I miss her and her game. I do think she will be back, as she cited coming back too early from the appendectomy as the reason for her poor play later in the season. Yes, she's a headcase, but she's so honest about it, and obviously got so much joy from the game. I will never forget watching her win Wimbledon and how she just held the Venus Rosewater dish and hugged it to her...it was such a special victory for her!

I dont. I enjoyed her when she played but her time has passed. Last year was the long culmination of long simmering potential reached. She is now getting a bit old, and with Henin, Williams, Serbs, her nemisis Davenport returning, Sharapova, Kuznetsova, her days as a true elite player are gone for good. I suspect she will play a couple more years, enjoying it, with little to no televsion converage as there are now more important people to focus on, and just play out the string until retirement satisfied with finally realizing her potential last year.

I like her game. On a good day she is great fun to watch and I wouldn't write her off. She still could win another slam, why not?

I can't believe so many people think she's manly or whatnot.
She plays some of the most beautiful tennis game I've ever seen.
I can't wait till she returns. Sure she has a weak forehand but her serve&volley/backhand is just amazing!

I do miss her. We seem to be absent some good players from the women's game at the moment.

I currently miss Clijsters, Mauresmo, Davenport (until I see her again) and Mary Pierce.

I have to admit I had rather forgotten about her also, but when I thought about it, though she hasn't gone deep in Grand Slams consistently, she usually "mopped" up in early rounds those girls who got through only to completely cave 0 and 1 in the next round. So I miss that about her.

I don't keep up with women's tennis as much as the men's, but I was actually sad to see her be given the first slam with so many defaults. To me she has always been talented, and has the physical gifts to dominate, but she was always mentally suspect. I really wonder if she would have won the 2nd slam had she not been given the 1st, because she had always been an under achiever.

As to her being missed, the women's tour needs all the depth it can get, so hopefully she will come back strong, and not just be content.

She has just said that she will come back stronger next year. She definitely has the talents to do so... She has the most variety in her game, equal or more than Henin.
