Do you think it's possible that Federer coaches Dimitrov when he retires?

I mean why not. Federer certainly sees himself in dimitrov and wants to help the guy out. Is it possible?

The guy has four kids and enough money to last 20 lifetimes. The chances of him bouncing around the tour as a coach are slim to none imo.

Fed just coached Dimitrov for free. Badum tsss.

No is my short answer. Noooooooooooooooooo is my long answer.

It's an interesting prospect but in reality and like a few posters have mentioned, with 4 kids I think Fed will at the very least take a few years off completely once he retires.
There's no doubt Fed loves tennis & long term it's likely he'll be involved in some capacity & coaching is certainly an option for him.
As for whether he coaches Dimitrov though, I think Fed will still be enjoying family time when Dimitrov peaks so probably unlikely just from a timing perspective.

Considering Fed hired Edberg, it would not surprise me to see him coaching after 5 years out of the competitive tennis scene.

Yeah, I don't see Fed becoming a coach any time soon. He's already spent 15 years on tour. That's a grueling schedule for 15 years non stop.

Definitely a break from the sport after retirement.

Just because a player is great, doesn't mean he would be a good coach too. And vice versa.
Of course, Roger's limitless knowledge of the game could be beneficial to any pro.

I think that Roger could be an interesting commentator. :) I hope he considers it, only for the Slams though.

Nah Fed will probably still keep in touch with tennis, maybe the director of Basel of Swiss DC team. Other than that he will spend a lot of time with his family and teach his kids how to play

Why would anyone with as much stature and money in the bank as Federer want to follow around a lesser-known player for crumbs off his table?

Pretty much this.
And if he is to be a coach to anyone somewhere in the future (I mean it took a guy like Lendl some time as well, and wowsee... he has four daughters ;) ) I doubt it will be Dimitrov, who, if I may be so frank, doesn't seem to be heading anywhere near to fulfill his nick of being 'baby Fed' as of yet.

Dimitrov will never ever be close to Federer's standards.

Dimitrov is carving out a good career in which every year he progresses we'll see what happens.
