Do you think Nadal/Djokovic would have won less majors/retired by now if Fed had already retired? Whereas, Fed has had to manufacture motivation?

After winning Wimbledon in 2009, Federer passed Sampras for most majors with 15 and most weeks ranked #1.

At the time, Djokovic had won 1 major and not reached a Grand Slam final for 18 months. At the time, he had never been ranked #1.

Nadal had won 6 majors. He had been ranked #1 for 46 weeks.

At the time, many thought Federer should retire, going out on top.

It seems amazing to me that Federer has played for almost 10 years after many claimed him to be the undisputed Greatest of All Time. Nadal/Djokovic will certainly not do that.

Possible, the big 3 always looked to push each other for greater heights in a fruitful cooperation.

Make no mistake, no matter what they say they all want to be the Goat, even if they have to play into their 50s to assure that.
