I completely understand your point on another thread about the s__t show this place has turned into but I think you're incorrect blaming it on the Big3. Once they retire the children will just be fighting over whether Thiem, Tsitsips or Zverev are the GOAT. This board won't change unless the moderators start deleting the trolly threads and suspending posters for doing nothing but trying to cause trouble.

****, I ended up clicking on the wrong option.

Yes. We need the gen after the big 3 to step up immediately.

LOL. Oh Ann, you know me so well.

And while I will admit that I was inspired to make this thread by that other thread, I genuinely am ready for a new era. In the sense that I was a Fed fan for a relatively short time, while he was an actual all-court player during the FedEx years. And even then, he wasn't my fave, just maybe in my top-five. I rooted for Djokovic before he really became Djokovic. And I've never enjoyed Nadal. So once the tribal wars began, I never really ever had a horse in the race.

Either way, 15 years is a long time. And I really do want to see something new. Not that it's up to me, anyway. ;) But I was curious to see if anyone else was ready for a new era.

Of course not.. But it'll end someday. And with the future of tennis in the hands of people like Zverev, Shapo, Tsitsipas and Coric... It looks very bleak indeed

Honestly? Yes. It's really getting ridiculous at this point. The more we postpone the big 3 era the longer the tennis "bear market" is going to last. We need a period of tons of random players winning Slams so we can get this over with.

I don't care if the big 3 play more and win more , even though i like to see new winners.

For the next gen to win, it looks like it has to come by way of the big 3 getting injured. Getting to age 35 or 40 does not even mean that they will lose to the next gen.

That said, I want to see Wimbledon to reward big servers and players who want to finish the rallies in 2-3 shots max and not grinders. What is happening this year is a s**t fest.

Yes, it is time. It is boring and predictable at this point. But, I want to see some of the young guys step up and EARN it. I don't want it just given to them by default... it is amazing how useless and weak most of the players under 28 have been. It is really unprecedented.

I certainly don't mind them being around, but I wish there were other players who were as dedicated.

If there was anyone in the wings ready to take over then YES let it end but there isn't so NO. I really can't see myself getting excited about whether Querrey can beat Zverev in the SF to face Thiem or Tsitsipas in the Final. Somebody outside the Big 3 has to step forward and become a contender before I could wish the era to end.

Followed tennis since 1987. There has always been a changing of the guard: from Lendl, Becker, Edberg to Agassi, Chang, Courier, Sampras to Kuerten Hewitt, Safin, Ferraro, Federer, Roddick to Nadal, Djokovic, Murray. There is an urge to see the next gen take over and natural progression. It’s just stuck atm, which is disappointing.
