Does Anybody Really Know What Racket AA Uses

There have been so many threads/ads about "the racket AA uses". Does anybody know firsthand for a fact what racket he is using. I am assuming it is a prototype. Somebody must have gotten their hands on one of his rackets either at a tourny or a charity event etc.

Thanks, Ken

Who is AA? Gosh these abbreviations are getting to incredibly irritating. "SPPP" "APD" "PDP". I don't know. I know what they mean, but they're just kind of annoying. But I would appreicate it if someone could enlighten me as to who AA is. Thanks:)

In is first usopen match, he wanted to play it like a clay couter, so he started with his Insrincts. They weren't woking so they back switched to the trysis

. . . Bud

here we go again. i love these threads. all of us talking as if we actually know. perhaps old msg. board staples like pro stringers michael ludwig or thomas martinez can shed some light on this subject. i think (here I go with my fake knowledge) that the generally accepted theory is that he is either using a modified original radical trysis/tour (yes, the one that Head is re-releasing), with different weight and string pattern, but same mold, or just a completely custom stick. i'm sure his original radical (the one that he actually uses/used) was spec-ed out with the POG in mind, as was his old donnay pro one. some theorize that he's still using either of these two rackets, the graphite with the bar cut out. the beam width and head shape of those two are completely different than his standard "radical". everyone knows that through the years he's changed string patterns to suit his game, and around 2004 or so went to a slightly smaller headsize for a little while, and last year and parts of this year, has played with the instinct, both with original and radical paintjobs. he seems to have always gone back to his "radical".

Here's the thing: He really does use the Flexpoint Radical. He pulls several straight from the factory, strings it up at midpoint tension, and away he goes. No modifications. That's the thing about AA. No fuss. Every time Head updates the Radical line, he simply says: "Cool, send me the new ones. Flexpoint? Sounds good to me. I'm down to my last 7 LiquidMetals anyway."

I think that, unless AA, some authorized HEAD personnel or his personal stringer (Roman Prokes) comes forward with the truth about his racquet, we can only guess.

Its definitely not a flexpoint. There was a picture on a thread not long ago that proves that the "holes" are just painted black dots. I have no clue what it really is, but definitely not a flexpoint.

ps, is your name in reference to django reinhardt, the g.o.a.t. gypsy jazz player? awesome if it is

Yes, to guitarists and music lovers everywhere, Reinhardt certainly can be considered among the GOAT.

I remember when I first started these boards alot of people speculated that agassi might be using the Donnay he used earlier in his career. But I dont know, maybe that has been disproved or something.

I'd like to point out as Z-man has stated, the NEW/OLD POG OS is almost identical to the Trisys 260 TW is carrying, is it a coincidence that the 80's POG OS's(that TW is now carrying, 5pts. vs. the new now old POG OS 9pts.) that Andre ACUALLY used from 1986 to 1989-90 almost match the specs of the Trisys 260 that Andre has used since '93? In my opinion, the POG OS was Andre's holy grail and Head just made it better for Andre with a 21mm beam and different string pattern. I think the Trisys 260 is and was his REAL racquet after the POG OS and I would speculate the Donnay was exact to these specs when he used them as well.

AA donated aframe to the Phila Tennis Patrons a few years back for a fund raiser. The winner let me inspect it and the frame was heavier than the stock Radical of the day(Pre LM) and a 107 headsize. What does it prove, not much.

19mm and 21mm is a pretty easy thing to spot, also check out string patterns, so no you're wrong.

just cuz it's 19x21 doesn't mean it's not the prince graphite~

my local tennis shop owner in Arcadia managed to get an Agassi racquet and it is a prince graphite os w/ flexpt paintjob

Beam, 19 and 21mm beam. It doesn't have a 19mm beam, it doesn't have a 16x19 string pattern, it doesn't have a cross-bar and it doesn't have an oval head. It is not the POG OS though he did start his career with that racquet, '86 to 1989-1990.

PDP- Pure Drive Plus

One of the founders of Head is the person that designed the POG racquet. Why would Andre be playing with anything other than a racquet designed for him by Head considering its the same person that designed the legendary POG.

You're on it man, Prince tennis and Head racquet sports share the same bloodline, because of Dr. Howard Head.
