Does Anyone Doubt Djokovic...

Yep pretty excited for 2k25. Hopefully the microtransactions aren't too egregious.
I'm going to act stupid and believe there won't be any. I don't know, the NBA games makes sense with it, as dastardly as it is. Bloody VC buy the precious gatorade, being able to build the player to 99, I just don't know how this can work in a tennis game. Also think it would be a middle finger from 2k to the players, after not bringing one out for over a decade, now they are going to charge me 20 quid to be able to use the pristine grandmaster Federer forehand.

Not that it ever did me any good on top spin 4. I didn't have the skills to use Federer. Awk. Still, it's 2k so I can see them looking a bit of microtransaction action. Once again like Frank White in king of New York. ''A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in.'' Or should I say, 2k want in.

How many of you truly mean what you say when you claim Djokovic will win easily (the other thread by @Federev for example) vs saying that he will win as a jinx and hoping that he would lose!? I reckon 95% are out to jinx the Djoker…lol, this is actually funny.

I don’t think there is a such a thing as jinx.

I’m a butt-hurt Fed fan (still a fan) and I’ve learned the hard way and seen for years that whatever has happened to the social media generation - something has happened. And Novak is also tremendous.

So no jinx for me. Novak is not losing to ANY of these guys at the AO this year.

He doesn’t show any of the signs that Federer, Rafa, Murray, Stan showed of break down.

Father Time has not yet come calling. He will eventually, but not this year. (And I think he’s several years away).

Anyway… Talk of Novak losing this year is a joke to me.

Maybe… maybe Carlos can repeat at WB, but even there, I think Novak’s the fave.

But at the AO this year? People are dreaming.

wants to end up with 15 Australian Opens, assuming Rafa stays at 14 French Opens?

I bring this up because Novak has been so up front in the last year or so saying what his goals are but I don't believe he's ever gone here...and don't believe anyone has asked him about it...if he wins on Sunday someone should ask him
I doubt it

Way too far away

That’s exactly what he’s going for lol, but it’s not gonna happen. That’s going to be the one record he will have to swallow :D he would need three more AFTER this year just to tie and that’s not happening either.

We will settle for the eighth Wimbledon

the fact that we are giving a 36 year old man a chance to win the next 4 AOs :-D :-D

crazy thing is that it’s not totally impossible

lol the copium and but hurt on this thread. Djokovic will be lucky to win this AO forget 4 more. He will take any slam he can get at this point.

Oh yeah - he’s a beggar at the King’s table.

The guy can’t catch a break and his last 2 years - including this tournament - shows how lucky he’d be to somehow win #25 here.

Could you imagine the scenes if by chance Novak Djokovic - of all people - is able to win this year?????

CRAAAAYYYYZZZZYYYYY!!!!

Djokovic in January 2018 getting 12 more slams seemed WAY more impossible back then that this seems now
We didn't realize that this was going to be the worst generation of players of the Open Era.
Joker took advantage of that window of opportunity very well, to achieve unusual success in his late stage.
Kudos for him.

He can win, he can win this one too, it’s possible but to say he will win everything in sight is hyperbole. Expect him to slow down this year and Raz and Sinner will take their shots at the old man. I am fairly positive a lot of you had the same rants last Wimby too and Raz squeezed that one out, can very well happen this week too.

I’m not saying he’s winning 4 more.

I’m saying he’s a lock here. For sure.

He was a break point from a CYGS last year. There’s no even post prime Fedal to test him. Not that they ever did at the AO anyway.

He’s a lock.

I don’t doubt that Novak can win this years AO ( he is an amazing player ) but to say what is probably the obvious, that I think that each tournament moving forward will get harder as he gets older. By the time the French starts he will have turned 37 ( May 22 if I’m correct ) and then he is in uncharted waters for the modern times at least in terms of age related success. Ken Rosewell certainly up there for longevity and Younes EL Aynaoui from Morocco.

Seriously, the guy might just win one more at best. He is going to 37 next time he plays and the young guns are here.

He really isn’t but if that’s what you need to delude yourself to cope losing the slam race, then it’s perfectly fine.

Please lol :D
And I don't need to cope with anything, I'm not part of the bot brigade that HAS to have absolutely everything. 22 slams is more than enough :alien:

If he gets to 12 before retirement, I'm satisfied.

22 slams is more than enough but then comes out and says “My father has something he will NEVER have” and continues to brag about it.

You’re grasping at straws big time.

All I did was state a fact. There's things Novak wants that he isn't getting. It is what it is.

That record is probably out of reach. Specially since Connors has more tournaments he won in Podunk towns all over the US to add to his tally of "titles" if Djokovic ever gets close to 109
Jimmy would say “atp recognized biatch!”

And Jimmy played where the money was. The new fangled computer points ranking wasn’t always tied to cash monies prizes. Sometimes tournaments that were the equivalent of 250s with smaller main draws had bigger prize money or huge appearance fees.

There is not a single thing that Novak wants that Nadal also didn’t want ;)

Doesn't the same go both ways? Novak would kill to be as loved by the fans as Nadal, but it's a dream he can't hope to realize.

You can't always get what you want, Nadal and Djokovic live charmed lives but are not necessarily any happier or more fulfilled than your next door neighbor or mail man. That's life.
