Does anyone else's heart break...

...when watching Serena verbally abuse that poor lineswoman? She looks so small and vulnerable. I just want to give her a big hug :cry::cry:

Lines woman should have gotten up and said to her - what are you gonna do, huh? Bring it. Then if Serena smacked her, she could have been pretty rich.

It would've been even better if the lineswoman smacked Serena :)
But she would never do that... I think her name is probably Mildred and she loves animals. The poor thing would never hurt anyone and she's very traumatised by the whole thing.

Maybe in the future they'll have to issue Taser guns to all the linespeople just in case a player threatens them with bodily harm with their racquets.  LOL

she's probably a mother and maybe her kids watched. If anybody talked to my mother like that they would've been the one in hospital with something shoved down their throat.

I'm just kidding. I've never had a fight in my life or threatened anyone.

I actually didn't feel sorry for the woman because she looked like she was enjoying this. She looked like those annoying perfect students at school that love to kiss teachers arses and wait for an opportunity to tell on the baddy.

linesman are the under-rated ppl of tennis. w/o them, karlovic would have killed a player with his serve.

Serena's weapons would be gold earings maybe, bombs in the shape of fs and big booty move, where she turns around and smothers the woman with her expanding booty, meanwhile the women would chun-li her arse and maybe have like a weapon where she shouts "foot fault" and it weakens Serena :p
Ok i'm getting carried away.

please she can suck it up. If she can't handle someone b*tching at her, then she's not fit to do her job.

I actually felt more sorry for Serena that the lines woman. That was a non sense call. Some Player get close to doing foot faults a lot of times through the course of a match.

I think the more appropriate thing, is for the empire to warn a player during change overs that he is stepping too close to the lines. And to start to penalize it, if it countinues from there. But to just random call a foot fault to give match points is ridiculous.

I doubt if it was Federer, Nadal etc... it would have been treated the same way.

federer and nadal have way too much class to even say anything to the lineswoman.

The fact that the lines woman is so tiny and serena is so huge probaly made things EVEN worse..but i did feel sorry for her..getting berated like that for doing her job.

I just chalk it up to 'Serena being Serena'.

I don't think the linesperson ever thought Serena would make contact.

I'm still laughing at the one Serena apologist who said something to the effect that part of Serena's reaction was because the linesperson 'made eye contact'. That was hysterical. That's taking the 'different cultures' excuse to a new, previously believed impossible, level.

Why would my heart break over that? I reserve my empathy for the poor, the starving, the sick and the abused. Perspective please.

....WTF? Heartbreak for the lineswoman???? hahahhaah WTF why???
why would ANYONE give a sh^T about that lineswoman? She looked annoying to be honest. I actually wished serena would have kicked her ass, but maybe that would be too much.
