Not a chanceI think it’s 21 today or 20 forever..

The Next Gen are useless. So unless you have Alcaraz or some other new star, Novak has easy pickings for 3-4 years.
Novak will NOT decline physically. He is the STRONGEST 34 yr old EVER seen in Tennis. He it OUTLASTING guys 10-15 years younger than him with EASE.
Novak at 38 might still be fitter than the Next gen right now.
No one will like it. Most people like newer champions, faces and excitement.I don’t like anything you have said there…But 90% of it is correct….

However, realistically speaking why will Novak retire? He's still beating the next gen WITH ease. I mean he doesn't even to play any non slams.
He comes without hard court prep and wins UsOpen and CYGS. He beats next gen after being 2 sets to 0 down.
Novak will play as long as he can win slams. And right now there is NO DECLINE. He is even more dominant than his younger years.
I agree. But hoping on Aging is NOT a strategy. The natural law of the Universe is that the young devour the old. However in Tennis, the conventional wisdom has been turned on its head.My own belief is she will catch him…That could be 6 months away but it also could be another few years as you say…Impossible to predict…I’ve lost all belief in Z, Tsitsipas and Danil over last few months…Nole thrashed Med only 7 months ago in a slam final…
Djokovic will want to beat Margaret Courts slam record so he will have the record for both men and women so still plenty of motivation. If Roger and Rafa ever came back competitively, no. If they don’t, Djoko is done as well, no more motivation.
He will attempt to compete at the AO 2022, but the likes of Alexander "Sascha" Zverev, Stefanos "Stef" Tsitsipas, and Matteo "The Hammer" Berrettini will be awaiting him.
It's unlikely that the veteran Serb will be able to see off these young guns.
