Does Djokovic have an aura now?

I think the biggest proof is in the recent admissions from Murray and Nadal, where they both basically sound utterly helpless when discussing their prospects against Djokovic. That sums it up.

Murray and Nadal are little girls ;)

Djokovic has something extra nowadays, no doubt about that. He takes care of business.

As for the "young guns"? Well, last I heard, they're getting schooled by Müller.

I want to see Novak putting Nick Krygios and other youngsters in their place. When is the draw for Australia announced ?

No idea. I'm sure Djokovic will put them in their place...for now. But change will happen.

Of couse he has. The fact that he has it while closing in on 29 is even scarier. At the Djoko's current age, most players lost their aura.

At Novaks age Fed won 2 slams, Novak can tie that Longevity this year. By winning 2 slams or surpass him with 3.

I disagree my good friend @swordtennis

I've felt the aura and been calling for it since before mid 2015. Now I feel it's very very real.

Or are you being sarcastic?

But yeah, for my money he definitely has it and it's pretty frightening.

Clearly he was being sarcastic. Posters (fedals) in here always finds something about Djokovic that is not enough for something, he needs this and that although he has proven himself big time along time ago.

or I may be wrong.

And pulling out because of injuries (Thiem, Kyrgios). Wonder what Kokkinakis and Zverev are up to. Kokk hasn't played on tour after losing in qualifiers at the Valencia 250 at the end of last year. And Zeverev lost in R16 to Berdych at Stockholm Open last year.

Pros look absolutely miserable facing him on the court
Trying to think of instances where someone went in against him with, if not joie de vivre, at least cool confidence.

There have been a couple who did it against prime Nadal, but I think Soderling was the most brazen about the whole thing. I think it was almost caution to the wind, and he just pounded him for 4+ hours.

I think so, players are scared to face him even the so called "GOATS" Federer and Nadal try to avoid him at every opportunity

He has an aura, but it is the aura of a guy who will crush his opponents, if his best self shows up.

With Federer and other ATGs it was EVERY time they stepped on court.

It doesn't help that he was being dominant but to a different degree in the years of his dominance and that his dominance came relative late in his career.

Djokovic is more feared now than when Federer was in his prime, he's made every final the last year so obviously it's every time Novak steps on court because he always plays great, the stats don't lie

Maybe, but I don't see it.

Even in his pet Major Djokovic had to give up the title in a period, where he was dominant.

He was also stunned a couple of times by players when everybody was expecting from him to win (most notably the RG final).

With Federer at Wimbledon or US Open it was more who is going to be the next victim for the entire stretch of his reign there.

Whatever happened in those tournaments he was invincible every time (much like Nadal on clay).

they were both feared no doubt about it, but when you have guys like Nadal and Murray claiming there's nothing they can do when Novak's at his best just shows what they think about him and doesn't give the rest much hope of beating him, also some of Federer's victims were Bahgdatis and Gonzalez so you can't compare that to the players Djokovic faced in finals.

I am talking strictly form the factual point of view or at least how I feel about that issue.

Federer was starting every year as the overwhelming favourite once he was a champion and he never turned back.

Djokovic has been touted as an overwhelming favourite several times and has crashed spectacularly from his throne.

Don't forget how even now, after the statements from Murray, a lot of people think that Wawa can beat Djokovic at the AO, If he is in his "god mode".

The thing is, Nadal had clay, Federer had the fastish surfaces and Djokovic, although dominating every surface now, is not exactly seen as invincible on ANY of them.

Not on clay, not on HC and not on grass.

"I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, and most ruthless champion there's ever been. There's no one can stop me. Lennox is a conqueror? No, I'm Alexander, he's no Alexander. I'm the best ever! There's never been anybody as ruthless! I'm Sonny Liston, I'm Jack Dempsey. There's no one like me. I'm from their cloth. There's no one that can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart! I want to eat his children! Praise be to Allah!" - Mike Tyson

Of course he has an aura, you don't get to #10 slams and have a career like Novak's without having an aura...sure he can be beaten but when Federer and Nadal had their auras, they were also beaten, as well as other Tennis players and sportsmen/teams in general. As a Novak fan I'm loving it, prime time to be a fan :)
