Does Kyrgios have any over-40 fans?

Are you a fan of Kyrgios and how old are you?

G.O.A.T.
Wondering if the age of Kyrgios fans skews very young as they maybe relate to his ‘rebel’ image. Hard to imagine that too many people over 40 who are bringing up kids of their own like the way he treats other people including umpires, lines people, fans, opponents etc. Vote.

Im talking about long-term Nick fans and not those backing him just in the final because they don’t want Novak to win #7 at Wimbledon or #21 in Slams. I know there will be some Nadal and Federer fans supporting him on Sunday, but they want a Djokovic loss more than a Nick win.

As someone under 40. I'm offended.

I guess it fits my generation to be so.
It is not your generation. In all generations, there is a certain % of young people who gravitate to the ‘rebel’ image especially when they haven’t figured our their own identity and place in the world or started their own family. I used to be like that too.

I've watched him several times at IW, singles and dubs. Very entertaining. Definitely not a good role model for kids though. One country club looking lady sitting next to me told me he should not be allowed to be on the pro tour. Yet there she was packed in with everyone else, watching lol.

That being said I've been getting really sick of his act this Wimby, he thinks he's a little too important.

On the other hand, other than Rafa who would you like to see in the final v Novak?

I must say that in my childhood/youth I would have disliked someone like Kyrgios much more than I do now. Back then I strongly disliked anyone who wasn't a "nerd" in his professional sport and I would have seen it as wasting my time watching such a player. I always thought if I wanted to see someone fooling around while playing tennis I could go to my local club just down the road and see it everyday.

I was a Sampras fan exactly because he only let the racquet do all the talking.

I find his attitude and his stupid attention seeking as well as his immature antics and disrespect for the sport extremely annoying. Actually he is everything I usually hate but one has to admit his game is more exciting than most of the NextGen losers and he doesn’t show respect or suck up to the big three. Not exactly a fan but wouldn’t mind him winning Wimbledon, never bad to have a new slam winner.

Over 40s are way wilder than under 40s. Over 40s drink more do more drugs smoke more fight more have more random sex encounters etc.
Ill bet Kyrgios fanbase is 70pct over 40 women.

Fun fact: having players who insult their opponents personally and assault their girlfriends are good for the game. Box office stuff, we need more of it!
Don’t forget spitting at fans, breaking chairs, trashtalking your opponent by making up stories about their girlfriend‘s infidelity etc.

Me

Edit: I don't have children so maybe that's why
I don't have any kids either. :) And I meet the OP's qualifications since I've loved him since July, 2014. That's long-term Kyrgios devotion.

Now you need to upgrade. Spit at her, tell her that her husband is cheating on her (especially when she is asking you a tough question) too. That will take you to levels of ecstasy. ;)

I think another telling question would be,
Do you like partying with Aussies or no

I think the results will correlate to liking Nick or not

Over the last 60 or yrs of watching pro tennis on TV I don't have enough toes and fingers to add up all the bad actors I despised as humans but liked their tennis when they kept their yaps shut on court and played tennis. I'm not just talking about bad behavior like that exhibited by Mac, Nastase, Connors, Serena, Kyrgios, etc. What is up with Murray's incessant carping. Who is he talking to when he does that? Air, his team and why? What is up with Tsitsipas? I'm sure he is a pretty good guy but the whole Tsitsi world holds no interest to me - personal philosophies, camera work, incessant on court coaching. When Djoker plays I like to watch him play but the way he begs for adulation and some of his staged or simply crazy antics are off putting to me. Why does he yell at his team so much? What happened to the "egg" and the swami dude? No, I really don't want to find out, but why would I even know about that stuff? Djoker lives in crazy town.

My wife shakes her head when she sees me watching TV tennis matches for several hours on mute. But when that 64 yr old beauty watches Kyrgios play you can bet she turns up the volume. That is when I shake my head and chuckle:) I love it when she finds tennis interesting, however it happens. She adores Ons Jabeur and that story and yet she finds Kyrgios' act nearly as compelling.

Yes Nick can be disrespectful, but still good for the game. Imagine if guys like Norrie took over, tennis would be dead.

Heck, just his reintroducing the underhand serve against the star players is reason enough to have him. I can't believe people buy into the BS of underhand serve being disrespectful. How ridiculous.

Nick tries way too hard. He's the kind of guy where if you knew him and he walked into a pub, you would sneak out the back door.

Of course none of that matters. Nick could be convicted of cannibalism and a tennis crowd would probably still cheer for him to beat Djoker.

crap i accidentally voted under 40 without seeing the without a fan option

why must you not allow me to change my vote

I don't like his personality (mostly all the talking he does while on the court, and his meltdowns) but I think he is a very big talent
The way I see it, between Murray-Del Potro in 2008/2009 and Alcaraz this year, the only big talents have been Thiem and Kyrgios

I’m over forty and still very much appreciate rebels of difference sorts. Kyrgios isn’t a rebel, though. He’s the opposite — an insecure teenager who tries to puff himself up with overly macho bravado and obviously contrived “cool because I don’t care” crap. That’s one of the most common archetypes on the planet. Plus, he’s genuinely a dope in the grand tradition of stereotypical athletes who spent way too much time doing sports and nowhere near enough reading and learning about the world. He’s often ignorant to the point of delusional; just little to no practical knowledge or self awareness at all.

Not sure it’s a matter of age

I used to be. Got tired of his fucaboutery. Don't wish him ill, just hard to root for the guy anymore.

@Azure & @Lleytonstation if we're counting people over 70

@TripleATeam if we're continuing kids below 7

I like ol’ Crazy Nick. I’m in the ‘Over 40 Club’…have a son 4 yrs older than Nick that likes him, and a daughter 3 yrs younger than him that likes his antics as well.

I'm not exactly a fan. He's kind of a clown. However...

I like that his game isn't a cheap knockoff of the Novak-style baseline grind like 85% of the tour.
He has personality. It's abrasive, he's kind of an ass, but at least he has personality.
He seems to have fun out there - at times.

Plus, he's playing Djokovic, so obviously I'll root for him. I'd root for basically anyone that's not a war criminal or whatever in this situation, though. But, I'll root for Nick with no reservations.

(oh, and over 40 with change)

Still not completely a fan but recently with so many compliant mugs in the scene,
I admire him telling non tax paying vampires to stuff your rules and white only BS.
