Does Pure Storm GT offer more power than previous Storm?

I used to use the Pure Storm non-tour--which weighed about 11 oz. I felt it was a little underpowered, although a good racket.

Does this GT technology add a little more pop than the previous one? For the non-tour GT Storm, the swingweight is a little greater and the balance is closer to even.

Any thoughts on the differences--whether you're comparing non-tour Pure Storm to non-tour GT Pure Storm or if you're comparing the "Tour" versions. I want to know what this GT technology does to the playability and power?? thanks

I wouldn't think the newer model would be that much different in power. But you could use some power oriented strings at the low end of the tension to get more pop out of either model.

FWIW: My son has been using the original Pure Storm Team for several years, and based upon my hitting with one of his recently I ordered the Pure Storm GT demo (non-tour) from TW. Now my son's racquet is strung with Klip Legend gut in the mains and Bab. Hurricane Tour in the crosses while the demo GT has some brand of multifilament. We hit yesterday and taking into account any variances in strings, I found the GT to be less powerful than the original. It is still an extremely stable racquet for 11 oz., and very comfortable to hit, but I could not generate as much power.

i have been hitting with PST and now PST GT.
imo, the GT has a little more pop due to it's stiffer frame.
pretty good racquets.

most people say it's the same as the non-GT, but to me it's night and day.

i am going back to my PSTs.
i am one of those who love softer frames.

I have hit with both rackets and found there to be little difference between them. I found the GT to have a bit more plow through, however it was slightly harder to get around quickly. I'm sticking with the PST+ as it is easier to get some extra spin on the ball.
