What are your takes? Lets say Stan faces 2014 Novak in the finals(2017 Novak wouldn't reach the finals anyway.)
That true. RG'17, in a way, finished stan's and murray's career.By the final, Stan was injured and ended up getting knee surgery just a couple months later (after losing in the first round at Wimbledon). So I doubt he'll be able to succeed against Joco.
Yeah, If it goes to 5th set, no way stan wins. But he definitely has a good shot if it is a 4 setter especially seeing Novak on the other side.Toss up. I would favor Novak, but Stan tends to get hungry and beast when they face each other in BO5.

2018 RG DjokovicBut what version of Djokovic beats 2015 Stan?
Stan 17 could lose to many versions of Djokovic, he was injured and struggled with his movement.
But what version of Djokovic beats 2015 Stan?
RG 11,12,13,16 .
I see Djokovic is taking over Federer as king of hypotheticals
Yeah, Novak has many loses, we all know that... but he has even more imaginary ones...
Sure, one post is bigger than a numberless imaginary threads over a decade where Fed beats everyone and Novak loses to everyone...I see Djokovic is taking over Federer as king of hypotheticals

By the way, Novak cleaned all his FO loses by sweeping the floor with Nadal this year, and made himself definitely immortal, even at FO...![]()
Who cares who voted and how he/she voted... I won't vote myself... I am here long enough to know why this type of threads exists...Nobody has voted that yet mate. You can be the first one.![]()
We all know Nadal never lost a match when he was healthy (that's impossible), so yeah, in my desperation I must count every match...He cleaned up his 7 losses by beating injured 35yo Nadal that was struggling all season? Let's not get crazy![]()

Haven't noticed that trend, but will pay my attention...Nah, there have been many in recent times. I think ageing players become better retrospectively. Oldvak too![]()
The zombie novak that year who lost 6, 3 & 0 to Thiem? What are your takes? Lets say Stan faces 2014 Novak in the finals(2017 Novak wouldn't reach the finals anyway.)
Except for 2011 Djokovic, I don't see any version of Nole beating 2015 stan. No chance.Stan 17 could lose to many versions of Djokovic, he was injured and struggled with his movement.
But what version of Djokovic beats 2015 Stan?
It's hard to gauge Wawrinka's level in the final because he was up against a particularly brutal version of Nadal.
I knew I'd get some these sorta responses given Novak's performance that year which is why I wrote :The zombie novak that year who lost 6, 3 & 0 to Thiem?

That's the whole point of creating this thread lol. I doubt many players would confidently say that they can take a set off against RG'17 Rafa. It's hard to gauge Wawrinka's level in the final because he was up against a particularly brutal version of Nadal.
One in a million shots he hit that day
One in a million shots he hit that day. Lucky win
Of course, only players who lose to Novak are great and not lucky playersOne in a million shots he hit that day
Djokovic 2017 rg would lose to stan 17 rg, Djokovic lost to Thiem who was no way close to his peak and you think he would beat his worst matchup Big match player Stan
Actually I mentioned that we'll take an average Nole like RG'14. Novak 2017 can only be compared only to fed'13 and rafa'15.Yes he would have. The version of Djokovic in 2017 was the worst. Thiem bagelled him in quarterfinal. Wawrinka beat a very in form Murray in semifinals. Nadal is just a terrible matchup for Wawrinka on clay but he always brings his best tennis against Djokovic. If he could beat 2015 Djokovic, 2017 shouldn't even be a question.

True, Stan got worked out in that FIt's hard to gauge Wawrinka's level in the final because he was up against a particularly brutal version of Nadal.
Wawrinka is Djokovic’s master.
RG'14 Nole vs RG'17 stan?Novak was pretty bad in the QF where he got bageled by Thiem (who then proceeded to roll over for Nadal). Even if Stan was off his best in the final - the Murray SF took a toll on him - I think I would favor him over that version of Djokovic barring a possible injury.
Probably Djokovic.RG'14 Nole vs RG'17 stan?
I think the better question could have been RG'20 Nole vs RG'17 Stan.Probably Djokovic.
I remember this match being so strikingly symbolic after 2015. Stan riding high on clay and then Rafa comes around to put him in his place.True, Stan got worked out in that F

This but unironically. Find me a clip of Djokovic fuming post-match about his opponent getting "lucky"The son of God is so graceful, both in victory and defeat![]()

That's true, Stan did go over to Novak at the end while Djokovic didn't at AO13, maybe because they didn't know each other as well back then. Still, he applauded Stan on his way out and congratulated him generously during the on-court interview.I commented on the clips you and @MichaelNadal posted, which sum up some basic stuff from that rivalry. After both matches, they had a nice moment at the net. They always do.
Stan celebrated his win, which was a RG title, normally, then went over to Djokovic after a while to talk to him, because he saw how disappointed he was. While Novak, after winning an epic 5 setter in R16, ripped his shirt open and walked around like a wrestler.
I know what kind of celebration I find graceful
Not sure what Federer had to do with this, amigo...
